Enjoyed the food, but we were asked to leave after 90 mins stating reservations are only for 90 mins. Make sure you order everything early cause the service can be slow when the place is packed.Vegetarian options: All items are vegan.Dietary restrictions: Entire menu is vegan.

Very good food, great concept of vegan sushi. The restaurant deco is minimalistic and nice, the only downside was the noise level.

The best food we had in San Francisco by a mile. A definite must visit next time we are in San Francisco. Katsu, brussel sprouts, gyoza and the signature rolls were the stand outs.

The best food we had on our trip to San Francisco. Vegans and non-vegans alike will love Shizen. Get the Brussels Sprout, Katsu and Body and Soul… you won’t be sorry!

Excellent execution of vegan Japanese — flavorful, visually stimulating and satisfyingly filling for even a meat eater.Agedashi Tofu, gets everything right without missing the shaved bonito. Shizen Shiitake, delicately crispy fried, stuffed mushroom caps sprinkled with matcha salt — pure yum.Yuba Salad served in slightly spicy, almost creamy dressing is a bit more attune to the gastronomically adventurous.Shio Ramen, while tasty, had a broth tasting a bit too much of artificial meat. Just good, clean soy sauce, kombu and mushroom flavors would have been preferred.Proud Peacock and Missing Piece maki rolls, A+.A stylish, yet approachable, Mission Japanese, perfect for impressing a vegan date.
