San Francisco’s Hometown Creamery

Icecream is just okay there are certainly better options in the city. Tried the gingerbread, cinnamon, chocolate mint, and vanilla. All are very average. The service was terrible the worker seemed annoyed. Audibly sighed when I asked if I could sample a flavor. I tried to see if I could be nice enough to get them to soften up but failed. Said thank you 6 times and never got any type of courtesy in return.

ice cream was sooo good I had the banofee flavor and my partner had the maple bourbon flavor, we also tried a cookie which was so good warmed up!

I have never had Chocolate chip mint ice cream that tastes this fresh and delicious. I get it frequently now!
They also get very creative with small batch specials. A great gem in Hayes Valley!
Also crispy rice treats are super good 🥇

Yummm. Try the sf cheesecake and the bubbly Texan

Love the slightly icey texture. Still creamy but more refreshing than your average scoop. The fresh mint chip is so good. Get the waffle cone!!!
Chocolate chip cookie isnt great though.

I am not sure what was more delightful the absolutely incredibly delicious ice cream or the employee Michaels amazing service! He is a rare gem, you can tell he is really proud of the ice cream he sells! Very human interaction full of passion!!! The ice cream is just as good as the service! Such unique and immensely flavorful flavors!!!!! Oh yeah and the location is perfect if you have kids their is a nice big park for them to play out front!

The peanut butter fudge is my favorite ice cream on the planet! Almost too good to be true.

Stopped by for ice cream on a hot day. I am glad they opened a store in Hayes Valley.

Service was very friendly and they encourage tastings ?. I will definitely be back again!

Peanut butter chocolate fudge ice cream is the bomb! Every time I visit San Francisco I head to hometown creamery for my sweet treat! Also love how the menu has seasonal fun flavors and the staff are so kind for letting me sample them all!

The incident was 6/23/24 evening time 2 women working. I was out town with my family and received terrible
Unwelcoming customer service I felt discriminated. Let’s just say to keep this review short that if you are coming with kids and they have a long line (which is expected given sf as a tourist spot & they are right be sf Golden Gate Park) you will not receive samples and they want you out as quickly as possible. Families please choose elsewhere. If the owner reads this please contact me. Thank you.

Visited on a weekday for post dinner dessert. Not busy - but don't let that fool you. I ordered a single scoop of the Horchata flavor on a waffle cone. Costed about ~$7.

Hard to believe this creamery has been only open for 10 years now, because the quality of the ice cream would have me believe that they've been established for years - the quality of the ice cream was SUPERB. Not only has this been the first time coming across a Horchata flavored ice cream, but the texture of the ice cream was so. incredibly. silky!

The atmosphere was cozy! Small shack with indoor and outdoor seating. I can see this place getting slammed during warmer weather (if that even exists in San Francisco).

Would I come again if I was craving Ice Cream?
You bet!

You can actually taste the natural mint leaves in the mint ice cream. Something like I never tasted before!
