About Song Wat

Song Wat is a Thai restaurant in NoPa. The food is amazing and probably the best Thai in the area. The tom yum goong was so good, and the pad Thai is way too good, with mangoes perfectly balancing out the sourness. The Miang Kum was fresh, vibrant, and packed with textures. The Kua Kling Kon Samui had incredible depth of flavor with the right amount of heat, and the Massaman Nuea was rich and tender. The Mee Krati was great, the corn Tod Mun is yummy, and the fish is yummy.

However, some dishes were hit and miss. The mango sticky rice was a let down because the rice was formed into a hard brick and wasn't fluffy. The Ko Lae skewers did not have distinctive flavour, and the Khao Pad Rod Fai had too much dark soy sauce. The duck salad was not good, and the chip was stale.

The staff were friendly and patient, though service wasn't the best one day. The atmosphere is casual, lively, and welcoming. The menu feels unique with regional Thai dishes, and everything is approachable. Song Wat is absolutely worth a visit.

Highly recommend Yum Duck with Thai Taco!

Jenny and the team are absolutely killing it! Mynt our waitress was very sweet and knowledgeable. I grew up in Thailand and can properly vouch for the food. Loved the Miang Kum and chicken wings (tangy, sweet, crunchy gahhhh) and if you want to try something new and can handle spicy spicy southern food, loved the dried beef curry (get it with sticky rice).

Definitely want to return for the fish and massaman!
Authentic taste, rich flavors, and cozy ambience. Excellent for date night. Coconut ice cream dessert is wonderful!
