Came here for the tasting menu after seeing good reviews, but left extremely disappointed. We did the tasting menu for 2, with a few add-ons and a wine pairing; our final bill after tax and tip was about 800.The opening courses were interesting and there were a few great dishes. Towards the end though we noticed the flavor profiles felt extremely repetitive and many dishes were overly salty. The entrees were also questionable; the bass and add-on BBQ duck were extremely overcooked. The lamb was decent but wasn’t anything interesting. The waitstaff was very attentive throughout the night, but dropped a used utensil on one of our coats and didn’t give us any additional napkins to clean up the oil stains ?I think for a lower price point, Sorrel would be a good place to revisit, but we left extremely disappointed overall and feeling like we got robbed.

This was the most amazing culinary experience that we’ve had so far in San Francisco! We had the tasting menu (8 courses) and enjoyed every single dish so much. Also the wine pairing was spot on. Would highly recommend to go here asap!

I had one of the best restaurant meals ever in San Francisco last night at Sorrel. The pictured dish is described as maitake / potato / dashi, the first course of seven and my favourite. The wine pairing was very good, and the service outstanding. Great celiac accommodation for me. Instead of the pasta based crab dish I got a stunningly excellent sun-choke risotto. Highly recommended for a special occasion.Dietary restrictions: I had excellent accommodation for my celiac affliction. Instead of the pasta based crab dish I got a stunningly excellent sun-choke risotto.

Great evening at Sorrel, with my wife, daughter, granddaughter and son-in-law. We were guests of my beautiful granddaughter Isabella and they treated us very well. Recommended when visiting San Francisco.

Nice fine dining restaurant with tasty food and good presentations. The duck additional course was the best. The decor looks modern and very pleasant with plants indoors. We had the 5 course dinner menu with an additional dish. The service is attentive with minor mistakes during our dinner.

Wow, Sorrel absolutely blew me away. I’ve been once before a few years ago and I remember enjoying everything; but on my recent visit every bite was surprising, delicious and memorable.I opted for the smaller tasting menu and added all the additional items. I believe their menu is constantly changing so I don’t want to leave too many specifics because it may be different on your visit—- although I was told by a friend that the cheesecake with caviar was life changing. I do highly encourage you to add that option. Also, wine pairing for $50 is a steal!Service was impeccable, all of the staff were knowledgeable and could speak well about the food and wine presented. Will be back again soon!

Truly an amazing experience - get the tasting menu and definitely get the duck with fennel as an extra. It’s quite amazing.

Delicious Tasting Menu! Even with the sound panels on the wall though, it was a bit loud.

We had the winter tasting menu $185+++ per pax and were really impressed with the flavours. Most dishes were outstanding, the caviar basque cheesecake was interesting and the service provided by Jonathan and team was excellent. Worth every penny. Thank you for making my boyfriend’s birthday celebration memorable!

Had a lovely time. Found the wire pairing to be especially good. We did not get any supplements and were extremely happy with the meal. The combination of flavors over the dinner was fantastic and quite creative. Highly recommend.

Did the full tasting menu last night and still daydreaming about it today. We added on the oysters, half duck and and i did the Wagyu instead of the halibut; it was an incredibly filling meal and looking back, we probably didn’t need the duck, but it was delicious nonetheless.Everything was good, but the best parts for me were the sunchoke snack, Hiramasa, Quince Cappelletti, Rabbit Angolotti, Wagyu and the sorbet snack. Not pictured are the oysters, cappelletti and duck. Too excited to wait to eat and forgot to get pictures of those.
