As a soccer fan, I’m always on the lookout for a spot where I can watch my favorite matches alongside fellow enthusiasts. One of my go-to destinations on match days is South Beach Café at 800 Embarcadero. They have a good-sized TV that’s perfect for watching games, and they serve excellent coffee, beer, wine, and a solid menu of pizzas, salads, and sandwiches. Over the last few years, they’ve also upgraded their outdoor seating a bit, making it a comfortable place to hang out before, during, or after a match.
The last time I watched a game there, I ordered a couple of coffee drinks to get myself ready for kickoff. By the end of the match, after jumping up and down like a madman, I was starving. I eventually calmed down, at least to the level of a semi-civilized soccer fan, and ordered their Salmon Salad, which was delicious and surprisingly filling. And if you’re leaning toward pizza, their South Beach pizza remains a reliable favorite.
If you’re in the neighborhood on match day, or even if you’re just out for a walk along the Embarcadero, South Beach Café is a friendly, relaxed spot to recharge, enjoy good food, and, if you’re like me, celebrate or suffer through another 90 minutes of soccer drama.

Used to go here all the time but no longer. It’s because the old guy who runs it doesn’t wash his hands so hygiene is questionable. When I ask him to clean his hands he gives me an angry look. And he also gets confused easily. I ask him for a cold sandwich and he warms it. That sort of stuff.

Very good place to work on your laptop. WiFi speed exceeds 300 Mbps. The place is 30 years old and the owner is super nice and humble! Food and coffee is good as well. Would love to visit again!

Don't waste your money on this place. service was terrible I was waiting 20 minutes for a bland pepperoni pizza. Owner was outside chatting while his wife was working. Save your money also place was dirty and run down to all hell.

What they call a Margaret pizza is a cheese pizza with a few basil leaves on it. The crust is thick and hard. Not the place it used to be. Quite disappointed.

This was such a lovely find! Family and I were in the area for a concert and looking for something on the quieter side. We were so lucky to come across this cozy gem. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was kind as well. Definitely a place I will return to!
