Alex and Nicole were phenomenal. Service and experience all worth every penny. Food was above our expectations. And the entire experience from Patty at the front to the very last bit with Alex all made my teams night an exceptional experience. So grateful and definitely will share with so many of our clients at the salon. Thank you for a memorable evening.

It was nice to try State bird provisions on my to go places for a long time. Now that I got to go,Food is okay, pricey too for what it is but the concept of dim sum is nice cute and creative. In my opinion, just the trout dip and trout entree the best dish. Potato chips no big deal and nothing fancy! It's Super noisy so go with people you don't need much conversation. Small selection of desserts and price for ice cream Sandwich. Also there is SF 6.5% mandate tax if you care. Overall, i loved trying it first time but i wont care to go for Michelin star not impressive for me. But you need to try to be the judge :)

All dishes that come by on the dim sum cart are locally grown/sourced and are delicious! It is my favorite way to eat, lots of creative, different little dishes & tastes. It was a real treat!

Cool vibe and concept. Pros: wine list was interesting with some unique skin contact offerings. Service was rock solid. Vibes were high, lots of friendly greetings to other diners/regulars. Cons: Food was lackluster, even for half the price. Some dishes that came highly recommended by staff were a miss (dungeness crab entree, pot de crème). Service was a little cold if you weren't a regular. Open kitchen but no interaction with chefs felt a little off.

Dining at State Bird was one of the most unique experiences I've ever had. The service and food were stellar and the dim sum kept us engaged. Hands down one of the best restaurants I've been to.

My favorite restaurant! Fun concept, tasty food. We went for the collaboration with 50Hertz Tingly Foods (Sichuan peppers), so it was even more fun and the regular menu was also available.

Fun experience, helpful wait staff. A few dishes were excellent, some just meh. Overall very rich food, and overpriced.

Feeling like you don't want to eat but wanna hangout somewhere that's not the home, city streets or a lounge? Your are at the right spot. Be ready to almost lose your voice and sense of hearing it's Orange County on game day dive bar loud.

The atmosphere is quite lively and noisy, so it may take some time to get used to. However, the food is excellent, especially their state bird plate, which is a must-try. I would definitely go back just for their truffle brioche toast; I saved half of it for the last bite because it was so delicious. I tried almost every dimsum dish served (around 12+ items) and enjoyed most of them, except for a couple. I wasn't very happy with the service, as the main courses took a long time to arrive, and it was difficult to understand the descriptions of the dimsum dishes from the servers. We felt pressured to try things because they didn't give us a chance to decide or understand what they were, just pushing the plate towards us with the suggestion, "You should try it, you'll like it." Overall, the menu is interesting, and the restaurant is worth a visit despite the chaotic and loud atmosphere.

Very underwhelmed. This was my first time here and I had reasonably high expectations given the restaurant rating, etc. The service was horrible. Had to wait a long time to order a drink. Then I eventually ordered a beer from the waiter and had asked to have a slice of lime. Beer was delivered from another waitstaff w/o a lime. Kindly asked for a lime ... she acknowledged and never came back. I then caught the waiter (had to get up to find him) to ask again for a lime ... still never came. Went to get a lime from the bar/open kitchen area and was scolded by another waiter saying that those limes were only for the kitchen ... they were on top of a counter above where people were eating at the counter. Then had to go around the corner to another area and finally strong-armed my way into a lime ... probably 30 min after having arrived at the restaurant. The waiter also was clearly trying to rush us and turn the table ... was mechanical.

From a food perspective, of the various things our table of 4 tried, half were pretty tasty, 1/3 was mediocre at best and the rest were bad. Was not impressed.

From an ambience perspective, the table we were at had two chairs and a row bench. The two chairs were so tight against the table's chairs behind us that my chest was almost against our table ... definitely not comfortable set up.

Lastly, they add a 6.5% SF service charge to the already overpriced bill ... just wrong.

I'd avoid it and will not be back.

We must have tried everything except for 1 or 2 things, and we loved them all. Very different flavors made every dish unique and memorable in its own way.

Great food and service. Avoid the buffalo cauliflower, or the rest of your dinner will taste like buffalo sauce.

I really wanted to enjoy the food but everything seemed like it was caked in oils and fats and ranch or Caesar dressing, so I was not a huge fan. The broccoli Caesar or the silken tofu for example. The trout dip was good but just tasted like ranch, garlic and tuna. The sesame oil on the persimmon tasted random and overall I just felt like no dish stood out and I probably should’ve ordered from the menu instead of just doing the dim sum aspect. Some of the cart servers felt a little too aloof and not super friendly so it was just awkward but our server himself was such a delight! I do not think I would return.
