Really yummy boba tea in a variety of flavors! My husband got the roasted oolong milk tea, and I got the classic Thai milk tea. The boba was fresh and lightly sweetened, and the tea tasted high quality. I like being able to adjust the sweetness and ice levels. Their menu has a lot of options that look appealing, so we plan to make this a weekly shelter-in-place treat. The appointment window worked well, as the tea was ready by the time we were there and we didn't have to wait with anyone else. STEEP is near the Embarcadero, and it's a beautiful place to walk while drinking your tea. --EDIT-- I made a mistake in looking for the right listing on Yelp--this location is NOT the one that is open during shelter-in-place. Go to 270 Brannan St to pick up!

March 2020: Steep is offering 5-10 minutes spaced out appointments during this period. They're offering appointment slots on - I booked some time for myself, but you can put it on your calendar to support them too!

I'm glad I came and tried this place out. It's tucked within a side street that I wouldn't normally go down. Searching for an acai bowl place brought me here. The pitaya (dragonfruit) bowl was solid and great for the $8.25 price. The consistency of the bowl was on the watery side so if you like it thicker you could probably ask. I noticed many people were getting the boba or coffee and chilling at the few small tables outside but don't drink caffeine myself. It smelled good though! Definitely seems like a nice place to relax and chat with a friend or colleague.

The tea is okay. It seems a little overrated. Love that they have healthy food options instead of the usual fried foods.

Stopped off here while I was walking down to Caltrain. It is down an alley which was cool, not sure how people find it unless you are determined like me. ;-) Tiny location with no restroom. Got the Açaí bowl with almond butter which was meh.

I really enjoyed my matcha latte with boba and almond milk. Steep is a great alternative to boba guys! They have similar drinks and boba quality. Also unlike boba guys there is no line. The service is great and my dog even got a biscuit! Highly recommend.

Been here a bunch. The tea is just OK, not very strong flavors, and the boba itself can be hit or miss. When it's a miss it can be overly chewy. I've also gotten the agar boba here a lot (trying to be healthy) and it's a nice alternative for a more jelly-like texture and less sugar. So it's just OK, but why did I keep going there? For one, it's convenient if you're in the area, it's usually pretty clean, service is friendly, the prices are enticing, and they have a decent rewards program: 10 drinks and the next one is free. Plus free bday drink. You can also get ice cream here, but I've never tried it. It's a notch above your Quicklys, but below Anteater Guys or other trendier spots.

Its okay. It was the closest boba to my work, but this location is sort of in an alley / smaller size street. It's very small inside but there are a couple of tables outside. They have one tablet you order and pay from but it takes a little bit of time so it would be nice if they could get another tablet. I tried the dark roasted oolong milk tea with boba at 75% sweetness. The drink looked way off from the photo - the photo on the tablet showed it as a dark brown but it came out looking like a regular milk tea color. It's safe to say I didn't think the tea flavor was strong or deep enough for my tastes. The boba itself was chewy and texture was okay. I don't know if I would come back tbh. I wouldn't go out of my way though

Perfect coffee shop in this neighborhood. Iced Latte is great!! LOVE THIS PLACE.
This place is pretty good! Limited seating, no frills and consistently good drinks. Definitely happy to go back but not 5 stars because I'm never craving this place, plus I think Boba Guys has higher quality ingredients and you can taste the difference. I would go here over Boba Guys for a few reasons: to skip the line, it's slightly cheaper? not too sure though, and they have a loyalty program! I've gotten various drinks including the Dirty Thai milk tea and hot matcha latte. Enjoyed both. They have some unique drinks that they also do super well like taro or ube latte if I remember correctly. One time they recommended getting that with coconut milk and it was so good so i trust them! The negative here is the hours are so questionable. I literally have no idea when they open and close...

A new kind of coffee. Fits nicely between turkish espresso, strong filtered, with a touch of steamed latte on top. Free internet. A zillion varieties. Hand made. Talkative staff. Bad decor. Genuine.

I was here during Thanksgiving. My philosophy is that For a tea place, I will not give more than 3 stars if real taro is not used. I ordered a warm taro drink so it is hard to tell how well the pearls would have fared with a cold drink.

There is no comparison to this place and Quickly! There matcha is the bomb. It's a whole different class of bubble tea than those that serves sugar water.
