Subway in San Francisco

“Standard subway, friendly service, but Excelsior is somewhat sketchy. This shop got robbed while I was there: some African American teenagers with face covers darted with their sandwiches and drinks without paying for them. It's not the business's fault, but still, doesn't feel good to visit a venue where that happens (the robbers could have been violent and looking to take more than just the food..).“

“Sandwich shop with veggie patty available. The place is small, but well stocked. No place to sit and eat. Meal deal with choice of drink and chips/ cookie was good and was packed nicely and put in a good carry bag.

They had two flavors of soup available. They accept credit cards for payment.“

“Great subway! We’re from Spokane, wa and visit this location everytime we’re in town! Last 6 times same lady has made our sub, she is quiet but she is so kind and super efficient and the subs are always excellent! She takes her time and makes the subs so pretty and tasty. Thank you for always doing the best!“

“I have been coming to this Subway location for many years, usually when I am in the area where I am in need of a quick bite. It has also been a long time since I had a Subway sandwich. You might not notice this place when driving by since it is basically hidden and like a hole in the wall. The interior is compact and very clean. The staffs here are very welcoming, well trained and understanding where I never encountered an issue during any of my visits. Everything is fresh and made to order just the way I like it and I never mind the wait since I am a very patient person. They offer basic sandwiches, specialty sandwiches, cookies, pizza, etc. Promotions and deals are usually available daily, such as a six inch combo meal which includes the sub of the day, a drink and a bag of chips at your choice for a reasonable price. Dine in is an option, they have a few tables inside or you can enjoy your meal outside on their round metal table. Delivery is available through DoorDash or Ubereats. I recommend this place if you are on a limited time, if you need a quick bite just like me or if you just so happen to be in the area. I definitely will be back to tryout the other delicious options they have to offer.“

“it was a pleasant experience, staff was nice an the whole operation was clean. whoever the angel who is the sandwich artist on Oct 9 2025 deserves a raise - her sandwich artist skills are unmatched, my meatball sub was the best i’ve had from subway since my junior year in high school, 1996.\n\nyes, I wrote 1996. Eat your sub on a massage chair and feel bliss.“

“This Subway usually offers friendly service and a clean food line to choose from when ordering. Subway specials are offered 7 days a week at a great price for $6.99, found on the menu. The surrounding environment is entertainment at the Chase Center just across the street and the University located nearby bringing around those gaining higher education. There seating offered outside, because dining-in is very tight.“

“I recommend the steak provolone I chose flat bread toasted then added lettuce spinach tomatoes mayo and little bit of salt tasted almost like a chalupa was amazing they have fanta strawberry I think that's a rare find in big city so was very lovely I took a bit to figure it out but worth remembering fave mixes and cookie footlong was so delicious warm & finished cooled down aswell a must buy no rush eat.

Parking: Walk past two bar street stand dividing street and location entrance walk to near right outside stare steps left at top open is a mini Mart/market at right so across in front is subway possibly visible from final step top of outside stare ways open space roof covered.“

“Writing this review in 2020 I still remember when I came to San Francisco in July 2017 I was very hungry and saw Subway I straight away went in and ordered. After some gossip with the lady she might be around 58. I came to know she was from Delhi, India. I was surprised and I introduced myself to her and told her I was too from Delhi. She smiled and asked me about my trip and stay and that time and she gave another footlong sub for free. She was very humble and kind. I still remember these small things which made a change.“

“I always have a great experience here! The place is clean every time I come in, and the staff are warm, friendly, and welcoming. My expectations for sandwiches are high, and this Subway always meets them. Ingredients are fresh, and my go-to chicken and bacon sandwich is always on point—the veggies are fresh, the bacon has the right crunch, and the bread is soft inside and toasted outside. When the place is that busy, you know it’s that good. Definitely one of the best Subway locations I’ve been to!“

“Get the tuna or Italian BMT with tomato sauce. You just ask for what they like and get that. Don't go stones and out might get a ton of stuff or you should because it is healthier that mcdonald's . Let a go with get high and go this Subway.“

“Ok this place is as cheap as it's gonna get. I got the menu with the prices. I'm a cheap guy and trust me this is your best bet. Go in and get a foot long sub and eat half for lunch and dinner. That's your budget hack from me.The Filipina lady working there was super fast and hard working. She changed gloves when she made my sandwich so ya.“

“I took a friend from Switzerland there after we left the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in Golden Gate Park. I had a 6 inch steak and cheese and he had a foot long they were both fresh, hot and delicious. The place was small but we were able to stand up and eat at one of the tal tables in front of the window. So we enjoyed our meal and I recommend you stop by and get a bite to eat here.“

“We came to this Subway after shopping at Target. As soon as we entered the male server waved to us in a welcoming gesture. That was something special and so I said Hi with a smile. He prepped my six-inch Sweet Onion Teriyaki and my 1 cookie. He suggested that if I get 2 cookies my meal will come out cheaper. That was really great customer service.“

“Had a craving for a BMT on Italian bread sub at 11:30 at night, so hopped on the 38 Geary and headed down to 21st Ave to the all-night Subway. One server working that night with about six or seven people in line, which moved fairly quickly considering... Bread was freshly made; ingredients all looked fresh and crisp and well presented. Didn't look picked over or wilted like you'd think they may look that late at night. Server was very courteous and knowledgeable in the art of sub-making. Dining room is typically small, but enough room to accommodate a few people and clean enough to make you think twice about taking that sub home or going ahead and chowing down on it right then and there. I would have done either, but the next bus back up Geary was due in just a few minutes, so I took my BMT home. It was delicious!“
