SUNGHO Reviews
It’s the best Korean restaurant in sf!
My husband brought me here for my Birthday. It was amazing. I love Korean food, but this was next level. It is in the Tenderloin, I do not let that intimidate you. It is worth the walk from the Hotel Nikko. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The food earned it Michelin Star. Try the Korean pancakes.
Man oh man is this place awesome!!! I lived in Korea for 5 years, my husband is from Korea, so trust when I say this place does 되지국밥 (pork soup) RIGHT!!!! So hearty and comforting on a cold and dreary day. The owners are a couple from Korea and the wife was so friendly and kind. I can’t wait to come back here with my husband when we visit SF again!

SUNGHO is a Korean restaurant in the Tenderloin that has earned a Michelin Star. The interior is beautifully decorated and offers a calm refuge from the outside environment. Service is excellent, and the waiters know the food. The menu stays the same and emphasizes pork dishes. Popular items include the haejangguk, a spicy pork neck bone stew with ugeoji and dried radish leaves, the Pork Bone Soup, Bossam, Jokbal, and the kimchi pancake. Korean pancakes and the kimchi pancake are crispy and flavorful. The fried rice is slightly fusion‑y. Banchan is simple, tasty, and plentiful. The open kitchen concept lets diners watch the chefs. Reservations are needed. Many guests say the food is the genuine article and hits the spot, especially for those who have lived in Korea. The restaurant is a place to feel nostalgic and at home again. It is worth the walk from Hotel Nikko and a good spot for a birthday or a visit with a friend. The owners are a Korean couple, and the wife is friendly and kind, and a kitchen.
