Had a absolute stunner of a meal for lunch! The quality and flavor were excellent. Besides us, there were only locals, always a great sign. Our server, who I believe was the owner, took care of us like we were family. He was funny and made sure we were happy. We were served a complimentary soup to start that I would assume was the staff lunch, a flavorful light beef broth with veggies and surprisingly beans. Food came out quickly and in appropriate waves. The amount of quality food for the price was by far the best we’ve had in SF this week, not even close. We have dinner and lunch for tomorrow as well with the leftovers. Bravo!

Some of the most delicious Chinese food I've ever had! We were greeted pleasantly, given great recommendations on what to order, and everything was fantastic! We ordered the house specialty chow fun, black pepper sauce ribs, seafood wonton soup, salt and pepper cod, and pot stickers. Everything was delicious! There was enough leftover for dinner in addition to lunch. We'll definitely be coming back soon!

Been craving salt and pepper tofu for a while, and parents recommended this place for lunch. Arrived on Saturday at around noon, and it was busy. Husband and wife team man the kitchen and only one waiter at the front. He's very friendly and tries to ensure all the tables' needs are being met. We ordered:1) Salt and pepper tofu - Arrived hot and crispy - definitely satisfied the craving. 2) Salt and pepper chicken - Also arrived hot and crispy. Too much batter for me, but mom and kiddo really enjoyed this dish. 3) Lotus root and black fungus - Last time I had this here, the seasoned wok flavor came through. It was missing this time, but was still an enjoyable dish. 4) Braised fish and tofu - tasty5) Taro and preserved meat fried rice - Probably one of my fave fried rice. Although, like the lotus root, this time missing that seasoned wok flavor - still good, though. 6) Sweet and sour pork - No pineapples in this dish like other places, which tends to be my fave part but the pork was crispy in the sauce. Not too sweet. When busy, could take a minute for the food to arrive. However, everything arrived hot. Satisfying meal.

Solid 3 star restaurant. Prices are good and portions are great. Taste and flavor is lacking though. Went on a week day during dinner hours and place was empty except for a few take out orders. This restaurant can definitely use a good remodeling but why send the money when the customers that frequent this establishment don't really care for nice decor. One of the last dinosaurs out in the sunset area for sure.

This place was either up or down. We've had 4 star food here and 3 star food. It's been so weird. We had really good beef chow fun here and the next time it was 3 stars meh. Their fried dishes are overly fried.Their soups are watery.Their beef stew and oxtail are good but the portions are inconsistent. When we come here we don't know if it'll be great or just meh.Their string beans were great one time and overdone and dry the last time we went.I really really wanted to give this place 4 stars but the inconsistencies warrant 3 stars.

First time here , welcomed by a sweet older gentlemen that's smile is so friendly you can see it through his mask , food was good and portions were great , everything had its own individual flavor would definitely come back if I'm the area . As for the restaurant it's self it's a little run down but still clean .

Delicious rock cod and garlic string beans. My family and I always order this for dinner and sometimes for lunch too. Must try it. The price is decent too

Was a little weary to go in because it looks rundown from the outside but boy was I glad we did! The waiter was so sweet and attentive. The service was fast, food was hot and the portion as were huge! We had rock cod with corn sauce, honey walnut prawns, chicken wings and pork. It was amazing! Best honey walnut prawns I've ever had. And we had enough leftover for a whole extra meal. Definitely recommend!

Heard from a friend of a friend, you know how that goes..., about this place. It's been there, but supposedly under new ownership. "Very hood food with large portions!" I was told. The truth. Nothing could be further from the truth!Ordered 4 items. 1. Salt&Pepper squid. This order came with non battered fried green beans. These were salty. The squid was, in all honesty, 20% squid and 80% batter, with a strong taste of MSG. This was an absolute zero. 2. Sweet&Sour Pork. Occasionally I get an urge to order this dish. As much as this dish is criticized as an "American/Non-Chinese" dish, I love the slightly crispy lightly battered cubes of succulent pork smothered bright red sweet and sour with chunks of pineapple and stuffier onions and bell pepper. Nope. Nothing could be further from that description. Small, very thin strips of pork heavily dredged in a thick doughy batter. The sauce didn't even cover all the pieces. Old pieces of bell pepper as evidence of bruising and parts best cut off and thrown away. The onion had pieces of that outer layer where the onion turns into skin. NO pineapple. And yes, I understand individual restaurants make things differently, but this was waaayyy off base. Did I mention the heavy doughy batter? Another zero. 3. This was not an item on the menu, so I'll go easy. But it is an item I've ordered and eaten for decades here in San Francisco. Tomato Beef Chow Fun with Curry. Light on sauce. Light on beef. Light on curry. Good fresh chow fun. I'd give it 2.5 stars out of 5. 4. The saving grace. The meal saver. The dish that kept me from ordering a pizza for dinner. Tofu and Eggplant. The said it came with mushrooms, so cool! A bonus!Flavor A little sweet. Mushrooms were ok. The dried and reconstituted type. Tofu was firm and cut into small strips. This gets 3 stars. Would be 3.5 but next day leftovers showed a pool of oil. Oil I ate the night before. Ugghh. So maybe I did t order what others had better luck with, but for me and my next order out, there are way too many Chinese Restaurants to choose from.

I live in the neighborhood for 3: years and I went in around 12:30pm today, I know it’s a lunch break. I saw one round table with 5 men eating, one guy waiting for his order and another small table with 2 persons eating. For the first time, I was refused by tte server because it’s too crazy he said. Kind of rude. Seriously, I don’t know how they stay in business all these year with only one waiter working day and night, then refused a customer who comes in for take out. It’s not like every tables are filled with customers. Oh well, they don’t need my money, I’ll take it elsewhere.

We strolled past at lunch time and the place was full of people. Mainly local Chinese-background people it appeared. Menu's and signs on the walls are in Chinese too. Authentic, good food! Not expensive.
