Sweet maple is so consistent. I haven’t had anything I didn’t like so far. Service is always top notch, the brunch food is on point, and the Olympia coffee is addicting. I haven’t been to the one in Walnut Creek and San Francisco. I had the fried French toast which was as expected and the asparagus/maple bacon omelet. There is so much to try here. With the inviting atmosphere, delicious food, and super nice and attentive service, I haven’t a feeling I’m going to come back for another trip when I’m in the Northern California area!

tl;dr: delicious brunch with friendly staff and quick service, but the awkward outdoor line and less-than-ideal accessibility make it feel more like a fun stop than a must-return destination.
Sweet Maple lives up to its reputation for flavorful, generously portioned brunch plates. The food came out fresh and beautifully done, from the classics to the more inventive options, and the service matched the quality, with staff that felt genuinely warm and attentive. It is the kind of place where you can easily sink into your coffee while still feeling taken care of.
The part that made the experience less seamless was the entry. Waiting in a line that wraps outside feels a little clumsy, and for anyone dealing with mobility issues or injuries, it can be unnecessarily challenging. Once inside, the energy is upbeat and welcoming, though it leans a little on the crowded side, which isn’t unusual for San Francisco brunch but can still be a drawback if comfort is top priority.
Overall, it is a spot I would gladly revisit, but it does not quite hit the rarefied air of the city’s very best brunch places. Sweet Maple shines in food and friendliness but loses points in accessibility and logistics.

The food is great and the service is good; however, I have a gluten allergy and cannot have bread. I asked if I can take bread off and instead PAY the $5 to substitute for fruit. The waiter let me know that it's $9 to substitute for fruit unless I substitute my potatoes. This isn't special fruit...none of this adds up to $9. I wasn't expecting it to be free because it's $5 to substitute the potatoes for fruit, but an extra $4 is ludicrous. If you can't have gluten, expect to give up half of or meal or pay MORE than everyone else. Ridiculous

Absolutely everything was perfect! Starting off with the Millionaire Bacon Sampler Platter, this was amazing. Four different seasonings for the bacon I was beyond words. I got the French toast with mixed berries, berries being blueberries, strawberries and blackberries. It reminded no, no joke, of my aunt’s French toast. The iced mocha is in my top 3 of iced mochas I’ve ever had ❤️

Sweet Maple: A High-End San Francisco Breakfast Experience
Hospitality, Quality—and High Prices
Sweet Maple in San Francisco offers a memorable breakfast, marked by excellent service and fresh, delicious food. The staff are genuinely friendly, making every guest feel welcome. The ambience is warm and inviting, and dishes like pancakes, mango sausage, and freshly squeezed orange juice shine with quality and care.
However, the price reflects the city’s steep cost of living: breakfast for three came to $137, making this spot best suited for those comfortable with luxury dining. The contrast between Sweet Maple’s refined experience and the struggles visible outside its doors is striking, highlighting issues of privilege and accessibility in San Francisco’s dining scene.
For those with means, Sweet Maple is a delight; for those on a budget, its high prices may be prohibitive. If you can afford it, enjoy the exceptional service and food—and perhaps reflect on the city’s broader realities as you do.

The “millionaire’s bacon” stuff is a dumb meme and this is otherwise a run-of-the mill “nice” diner. Been a few times and still can’t get excited for it

OMG best breakfast ever ✅💯
Exquisite flavor on every bite on everything!
I’m not a meat eater but taste my husband’s millionaire bacon, OMG! We are impressed. It’s similar to L.A Republique on La Brea st. But better 👍
