Food was ok and ambience decent but the service was absolutely terrible. We had to find our server 3 times to get drinks, water, etc. The old fashioned on the menu is $25 which led to a surprise at the end of the night and was average at best.
I cannot say enough good things about the Barrel Room!!! I called day-of for a reservation, and they were able to accommodate our party of 7 at the exact time we requested. Upon arrival, we were seated promptly and asked for drink orders. The wine flights (our party tasted three of the ones offered) were each phenomenal. Food was great, a bit salty for me but the rest enjoyed it. Portions are big definitely can be shared by two. For the Halibut something was missing and I couldn’t pinpoint what it was but it was still good that I was able to finish it.
Location walking distance from the Jay hotel and near the Embarcadero.
