APPS Oysters...good, nothing special regards to flavors. Tofu salad...Excellent. Beef shin...maybe you should sous vide it; it was pretty tough; least favorite. Golden coin...the liver mouse made it tasty. Firecracker shrimp...excellent. Dumpling...had better at many, if not most dim sum restaurants. MEDIUM PLATE Crab rice roll...good, nothing special. MAIN PLATES Fragrant cod fish. Good with a clean taste; crispy skin was wonderful. Pork jowl...my favorite; tender and flavorful....
The food was creative and tasty. We got three appetizers and an entree. We had a late reservation. The menu is very simple and caters to different palates. The scallops and the pea dumpling were delicious. Fish was delicious as well. The service was a bit choppy, not slow but a bit rushed and constantly interrupted. Took away from the fine dining experience. Food should be about enjoying and conversation.
Special tasting menu, and the dishes were exceptional. Wine pairing selections were thoughtful and exceptional. Music is perhaps a touch loud. Service is a team effort versus individual excellence (could use a little finesse, but that's the state of service in SF currently).
