Been here a few times for drinks or a happy hour and SF Wine Society is a gem. It has a fun bocce court, is well decorated with a sense of atmosphere, and the folks here really know a lot about wine. And as random a compliment as this is to give, the bathroom here is seriously decadent, beautifully designed and fancy??? I think that alone is a testament to the care put into this place. All the food is really delicious so I recommend getting something to go along with your drinks!

This is my favorite wine places in Financial District. They have a great customer service and the ambiance is so cool.

This spot is tucked inside a small street so it feels like a little get away from downtown. It's got a dark, romantic, and cozy feel. There were various seating arrangements and all were arranged far enough apart so that each party had some privacy. We loved the pickled vegetables and spinach and cheese pizza pockets. The wine flights were generously poured and there was an option that suits everyone's unique preferences. Service was helpful, attentive, and friendly. The bathroom was also very clean and cutely decorated! Great spot for a date night or catching up with friends.

Was in the area and craving some wine so decided to check this place out. My friend and I had a dog with us so we sat outside. But they don't allow dogs because of the furniture. The server made an exception for us. I got the holiday red wines which were amazing and not to heavy. The pour was kinda sad compared to other places. We also ordered butternut squash bruschetta which for my taste buds it was so bland that I only ate on toast. And couldn't have anymore because it was the blandest thing. After that I was discouraged to order more off the food menu. Overall experience was okay. The wine was great and delicious and they have so many selections to choose from.

I am so done with this wine bar. I've on there three times. The first time I went there after I arrived they told me they were closed for a private party. Nothing on their website. That was about a year ago. I went a second time to try one of their flights, and the second wine of the flight tasted corked to me. I told my server who smelled it and told me it was probably just my taste buds. I ask for the manager to come over. She took one sniff and said, "this wine is corked get him a new glass.". tonight I rode Mart in from El Cerrito to try their Cabernet franc flag that was on their website, and when I got there, the server told me they were closed for a private party. I asked him why there was nothing on the website, and he said well you should call. It was nice enough, but it seems like they're spending more time Catering to private interest, rather than letting the general public know what's going on. I am now on the BART train back to Richmond area.If you want to sure thing, I recommend you go to the fairy market wine plaza. Get good wine and much better service, and their website is always up-to-date.

Went in for an early drink to celebrate my wife's birthday. Got in around 330 on Saturday. We were the only customers there and were well taken care of. The wine was great and the ambience was fantastic! The interior design is first class. They have a great wine selection with over a dozen different wine flights to select from. They also have a great selection of appetizers.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place. What an ambience. I must have a thing for old buildings and chandeliers lol. This place is all class, elegant, a wonderful dim lit ambience- situated in an old San Francisco building, which they played off of the rustic nostalgic charm of that building and what a wonderful job they did. It is aesthetically pleasing and relaxing. That's not to mention the wonderful outdoor space they created outfront, which shares the charm, a comforting ambience, furnished with chandeliers, plants, and fires places. Did I forget to mention, bocci ball? Moving on to the wine, they have an electic array of interesting wines, which being a serious wine enthusiast, I can appreciate. They have wines from mild to wild to wtf *insert chuckle*. They also, have a variety of small plates, charcuterie, flat breads (spicy lamb and shiitake mushroom), natella stuffed cookies... With that said, I truly enjoy this place. It's a wonderful place in the city that you can pop into and you don't feel like you're in the city-- meaning you forget about the bustle outside. I highly recommend.

Nice place. Good wine. But talking Too Loudly here will earn you a Reprimand from Staff. You'll be fine as long as you know that it's That Kind of Place.

Glass of wine--an amazing find in SF Financial District. San Francisco Wine Society is a hidden gem on Merchant Street [alley] off Battery street. The beautifully decorated sitting area of padded leather chairs and tables and comfortably dark and subdued decorating are the perfect backdrop to enjoy a great glass of wine and light bites. Sat at the bar and chatted up Chris and Erik, the sommelier, who told me that there are over 50 wines by the glass on the menu. Rare to find wine bars that serve so many choices from other countries. Debated between having a glass of French, Italian, Greek, Croatian, and Spanish wine. Erik was able to speak expertly about each choice and guide me to something I really enjoyed. They have an interesting and tasty light bites menu if you'd like to nibble while enjoying your glass. Worth a stop just for the experience.

This wine bar is tucked away in an alley and was a little hard to spot until I saw their outdoor patio sign. The inside is beautiful and has ample amount of seating. My friends made reservations for 6 so we took up the large dining table area; located to the right once you enter. Upon entrance, I noticed the intimate vibes but also noticed how quiet it was. It gave off "members-only" vibes. The 3 bottles we purchased were good. Pricey. But good. I enjoyed 2 out of 3. The service was great and the charcuterie was just as good! I highly recommend the olives. they were marinated in some Indian-y spice which was different but delicious.Restroom was worth noting down as well. It was spacious and super clean. I loved the Aesop products which left a nice scent throughout the restroom and my hands. All in all, I would come back for a visit if I was in the area. However, it is out of the way and not really walking distance to restaurants I would check out. Cheers!
