Great place to get a hot chocolate in a cold day. This is a legit, french, thick, creamy, indulgent (yet not sweet - up to your choice) hot chocolate. The shop is relatively quiet so you can enjoy the sip of chocolate and conversation easily. I would love to come and try other stuffs in the shop too.

I wont be going back. There’s a rude man that has a weird vibe.I ordered a coffee that felt watered down and I asked if maybe I got an americano, he said “No, it’s a coffee. When you have too many espressos everyday, coffee won’t taste as strong” I have no idea what made him assume I have espressos everyday but it was a weird thing to say.Later, when I was paying at the counter with another server and was given the tablet to tip, he yelled across the room that I couldn’t use the tablet and that they weren’t self service.

Very low-key and chill chocolate, coffee, wine, mixed drinks location with a very unique atmosphere and friendly man running the shop. This was open late before our dinner reservations so we decided to pop in and taste a few small chocolate options. The chocolate was very tasty and you could smell more being made in the back. The apple mixed drink tasted like a very sweet apple juice. The inside decorations seem to have changed significantly since the current featured photo from Jan 2020, perhaps for the better as the location felt very cosy and comforting as opposed to the photo that seems more modern.

Discovered The Velvet Raven on Yelp while searching for hot chocolate. A cute little cafe in front of a park. I opted for the French hot chocolate--impressively not very sweet (just the way I like it) featuring 85% dark chocolate. The cafe owner personally welcomed us and showcased artistic chocolates he'd been working on. Excitingly, he mentioned chocolate and wine pairings, which I'm eager to try at some point. Great find!
Came here pre-pandemic, forgot about it, and then have been here twice in one month!I love the ambiance--it's cozy, warm, and has lots of big comfy seating and artwork, giving off dark academia. It's a wine bar, chocolatier, and cafe. Service is helpful and knowledgeable. There's outdoor seating overlooking South Park too. Service is good. Nice place to have a meeting or read in a corner. I've enjoyed the chocolate, tea, and dark chocolate mocha. Will continue to come back.

Got the greatest fix of chocolate here :). We got the French Hot Chocolate as well as the regular Hot Chocolate. They offer alternate milk options and sweeteners. The French one was VERY sweet every spoon ? felt strong haha. But it paired well with the less sweet regular hot chocolate. At some point, we even did some chocolate transfusions from the French one to the regular :). Great low key spot with great service!!

My SO and I were checking out new places in the area and happened upon the Velvet Raven!!I was so excited to check out this location as their chocolates looked very well decorated. They had very particular and unique art pieces adorned on the walls and the furniture was comfortable.My SO got a few glasses of wine and we picked out 3 large chocolates along with 4 pastries and cookies.Everything we tried tasted a bit below average and fell short of expectations. I was hoping for everything to taste exquisite or above average at the minimum and I felt this place was a nice one to try out. The person who assisted and answered our questions was quite friendly though so service is great! Quality of food, alcohol and sweets, not so much.
