Will miss this place very much. Sorry to see them go! Celebrated several milestones here. Best dim sum in SF.

Today is the last day for this place after 42 years of business. Even though I was the second customer to come in as I waited with so many people, the person who took my orders stood very far away. I had to yell out my orders. What I notice is that they don't read back, and when other customers asked for itemized receipt - they don't have any. The person taking my orders was very distracted. She kept yelling at other customers to stay clear of the door while trying to hear what I'm saying. As a result, I found out they skipped three of my orders. When I came back, it would be one hour wait to place the order. The food doesn't come with soy sauce or hot sauce, so make sure to have some at home. Overall, this place tastes so good for dim sum. So sad it's closing and COVID has made many businesses like these become inefficient and chaotic. Good luck and thanks for the memories

Today I ordered my last dinner with Ton Kiang. I have been ordering Ton Kiang for sooo long, beginning when it was located on Geary and Spruce. Then it moved to the new bigger location. And as our family grew, we celebrated the milestones at Ton Kiang. Birthdays, graduations, get together, after funerals, relatives coming from abroad, etc... we always gather at Ton Kiang. The food was great, the service was friendly, we were never rushed...the only one thing we never had a wedding there, the place was not big enough for all of us! Now Ton Kiang has run its course. The owner has decided to retire. Today there were a long line of people in front of the building. Some cannot get through on the phone, so they came to place the order in person. Some others, like myself, succeeded to place the order on the phone, but had to wait a very long time for our order, yes, because they were so busy. Some said they drove a long way to order the food, they have moved away, but hearing Ton Kiang is closing, they had to come one more time. Everybody wants a last meal with Ton Kiang for nostalgia's sake. My order was short of the walnut cookies. I ordered 12, but I found only 6. Oh well, they were so busy they must forget to double check. With the fires raging around the Bay Area, my loss was minimal. So long, Ton Kiang, hope the owners enjoy their retirement and get to do what they want to do. I thank you for all the good food during all these years, but mostly, thank you for all the memories my family made while dining at your restaurant.

Loved this restaurant for decades! Went there tonight for a final meal before closing. I ordered dim sum in person and waiting nearly an hour for it. So if you can call and reach someone ahead of time would save you time. I drove home across town and the food was still warm and delicious once getting home. The dim sum was packaged in separate container to retain its sauces and other flavors.Bye bye soft shell crab.Their dim sum menu was available until closing 7:30pm

I am saddened that they are closing at the end of the month. My family has been dining here for the past twenty-five years that this location has been here. We had a couple of memorial lunches, the second floor that hosted the gatherings and the downstairs for walk-ins when we came just for dinner or the dim sum during the day. I haven't been dinning here the last five years because the price per dish have gone up. I think the Dragon Beaux has a better quality of food and since they opened more people were going there and less to ton kiang. I'm going to miss this place.

Just found out they are shutting down. It's been my go go place every week for decades. We used to just come down and bust the brunch line by coming straight in and signal to owner of heading upstairs. Wish you well Richard and Victoria. Will try to swing by or get to go if possible before your shutdown.

I'm really sad that this place is closing for good on August 30, so please support local business in the meantime! I saw on Facebook and social media about the news and heard so many wonderful things so I had to stop by myself. I walked in and ordered a plethora of dim sum and the highlight for me were the Egg Tarts for sure! Everything was clean and not greasy which was a nice surprise and it wasn't super expensive considering! Customer service was great and I'm sad I didn't get to go when it was fully open. I recommend stopping by for sure!

Unfortunately I got word yesterday that Ton Kiang will be closing forever on 8/30.They have offered the cleanest dim sum experience on the West side of the city for decades.Unfortunately this is why small businesses have been hurt by Covid closures the most. These business owners get all of their income from the restaurant operations and thus the pandemic will put them out of business for good. This restaurant has catered or hosted all four of my nieces and nephews baby showers, my brother's and sister's wedding banquets and my father's funeral dinner. It is more than a restaurant closure for me. I want to thank this family for being such a staple in the community. I wish you the best of luck and good health.

I'm so sad to hear that Ton Kiang will be closing for good by the end of this month. My family and I have been eating at Ton Kiang for over 35+ years. We started eating at Ton Kiang when they were located on Spruce and Geary. When that place was burned down, we start to eat at the current location. We celebrated many birthdays, graduations, Father's Day/Mother's day and many special events in our lives at Ton Kiang. The staffs are kind and would always greet us when we eat there. Ton Kiang was always our go to restaurant to order food and I don't know what we will eat when it closed. I wish all the staffs at Ton Kiang the best of luck. Thank you for letting us enjoy your food and be part of our lives!!

This is my favorite restaurant in the city! The food is delicious, and the price is fair. Additionally, they always have wonderful customer service. I'm looking forward to the dine in option to resume. Thanks for ways going above and beyond Ton Kiang!

I hate to leave a 1 star review for my go-to cheap night dim sum place, but...I ordered and grabbed some to-go items from Ton Kiang last night, and entered the store to pick them up. There was an old lady sitting in the employee area of the restaurant coughing uncontrollably...and then spitting on the floor. Why they'd have a sick, old, floor spitting person in their business in the time of covid-19 is beyond me, but I won't be back. Yuck.
