The restaurant's location is permanently closed. WHY would you have let me make a reservation??
Tuba is closed. Your app let us make a reservation and we got there and it is closed permanently
Tuba appears to be permanently closed! Please remove it from OpenTable! (It was a great restaurant before it closed, so we did not look at recent reviews)

The restaurant was closed due to not paying their rent. We needed to find a new restaurant to eat. Please take this restaurant off your list of restaurants
Seems to be closed. Tried to come by on a Sunday evening when it was supposed to be open but the place was closed.not sure if the business is shut down…
The service was perhaps the worst I've ever experienced in any restaurant. We had to beg for the waiter's attention. One order was reported as unavailable because the chef didn't know how to prepare it. Without asking for permission to change, the waiter delivered a substitution. Then, someone from the kitchen delivered the correct order. The wine was warm, as though it was stored next to the oven. I've been a huge fan of Tuba for years, but I'm not sure I'll return.
We enjoyed our meal - meal choices that I don't make at home, large shareable portions and at a reasonable price point.
I've eaten here multiple times since my last review that I wrote in 2010. I found that review when I was searching reviews to see if others had complained about the seating that is in the aisle between the tables that are alongside the banquettes. First the good: I met a friend at short notice for a very early dinner on a Saturday & was able to get a 5:30pm reservation at Tuba. We were given one of the tables beside one of the banquette. I ordered the lamb kebab which was great. I've had this many times before, as I've frequently ordered it when dining here & also for takeout during the pandemic. I asked which of the 2 rose wines by the glass would be driest & really enjoyed the Turkish rose that our server recommended. My friend also enjoyed her shrimp entree. We shared a desert, the Kunefe, & that was good too. The not so good: As mentioned we dined at 5:30pm. There were only 2 other tables occupied initially. One table was occupied by a family who had videos playing loudly on an ipad. The sound from the videos was competing with the music - quite jarring. We were finished our entree by 6:30pm as service was good up until that point. Then a different server asked if we wanted dessert and after she brought us dessert menus we then ordered dessert from her. Then our initial server came by and asked if we wanted to order dessert. We explained we'd already ordered dessert from a different server. We were waiting for our dessert when our initial server dropped by again & asked if we could move to another table because they had a large group who needed to be seated & they needed to join the tables along the banquette for them. We said ok, BUT unfortunately we were seated at one of those tables that are in the aisle - so cramped! Eventually dessert arrived but without spoons which we needed for the syrup served with the dessert. We started to eat the dessert with the fresh forks on our new table & asked for spoons. The spoons took a while to arrive.

Tuba Restaurant in San Francisco pleasantly surprised our party of 10, including a two-month-old. The warm hospitality and cozy yet vibrant ambiance set the tone for an exceptional dining experience, made even better by their friendly and accommodating attitude towards our little one. The delicious smell of Turkish spices in the air got us excited for the meal ahead. Our meal, from the assortment of mezze to the variety of kebabs, was delicious and expertly prepared. The highlight was the impeccable service provided by the staff, ensuring every aspect of our dining experience was flawless, even with a baby in tow. Given the intimate and welcoming atmosphere, I hope that Tuba Restaurant doesn't get too busy. It's truly a gem worth savoring without the hustle and bustle of a crowded venue.
As always, we loved or dinner and customer service was also excellent. We will be back soon.
Hanım was friendly and very attentive. Great service and food. Thank you for a lovely experience. We will be back soon.

The food is awful. Quality is terrible. They serve canned veggies for their main vegan dish. Appetizer sampler was so salty and not tasty. Bathroom was also disgusting. Huge disappointment.

I'm disappointed to say that our last experience at Tuba was not very good. We have been going for years and it has always been a favorite. The food continues to be very good, but the service was very poor the last time. It seems that they may have a waiter and hostess running the restaurant, but no manager to pull it all together. We arrived as the first people at the restaurant and they were trying to rearrange tables for future groups. They sat us, but then never returned to take drink or food orders, even though we were the only people there. Eventually they took the food order but forgot the glass of wine (the very first thing we requested). They brought the entrees, but with no utensils, so the food got cold while we tried to flag them down. Even though we were the first to be served in the restaurant, not all our entrees came, and we were only 3 people. We asked for a 2nd glass of wine, but it didn't come until asking again. We decided to pass on dessert, since everything was taking so long, and we asked for our check. They brought the check, but asked if we could move to a different table, because they had a large group they wanted to seat. I don't think a restaurant should ever ask customers to change tables during their meal. All in all, a very disappointing service.
