I've eaten here multiple times since my last review that I wrote in 2010. I found that review when I was searching reviews to see if others had complained about the seating that is in the aisle between the tables that are alongside the banquettes. First the good: I met a friend at short notice for a very early dinner on a Saturday & was able to get a 5:30pm reservation at Tuba. We were given one of the tables beside one of the banquette. Tuba Restaurant in San Francisco pleasantly surprised our party of 10, including a two-month-old. The warm hospitality and cozy yet vibrant ambiance set the tone for an exceptional dining experience, made even better by their friendly and accommodating attitude towards our little one. I'm disappointed to say that our last experience at Tuba was not very good. We have been going for years and it has always been a favorite. The food continues to be very good, but the service was very poor the last time. It seems that they may have a waiter and hostess running the restaurant, but no manager to pull it all together. We arrived as the first people at the restaurant and they were trying to rearrange tables for future groups. They sat us, but then never returned...
