The $55 prix fixe menu offers good choices. I enjoyed the chicken, and my wife loved the fresh fish. We both had the "Vacherin," a delightful ice cream dessert that I later discovered is a French classic. The staff was very good, and my cocktail was fine.

Food was delicious. Persimmons salad very fresh/tasty perfectly dressed. Swordfish expertly cooked and the sauce was fresh, interesting and so good, none was left in the plate. Desserts (coffee gelato/meringue concoction and toffee cake) were so tasty and surprisingly not too sweet. Good selection of wines. Servers worked to get us out in time for the opera. Prix fixe menu very reasonable for the quality of food!

This was our second time at Uccello Lounge and it was a pretty middling experience. The highs were the sticky toffee cake, the pate, the reasonable price on the pre fixe menu, and the staff accommodating our late arrival. The lows were the overcooked fish, the lack of sparkling water (how's that possible on a Friday night?), bland toasts for the pate (I stopped eating them), and oddly slow service for a limited three course menu. The service seemed to be an issue, as the table on one side didn't get their dessert in time for their show and the poor group on the other side never even got their main course. I left feeling grateful that we got all of our courses in an hour and fifteen minutes (with a little rushing of our server). It seems that Uccello Lounge could use some work on consistency with service and quality of food. We'll give them another chance the next time I can't score a pre-show reservation somewhere else.

Fabulous. Right across the street from Davies. Given their location they know their clientele are likely going to a show, and they make sure you stay on time. The food, drinks and service were all excellent. Can't wait to return!

I invited a work colleague to celebrate her birthday at Uccello on Wednesday, 12 Nov. We ordered the prix fixe dinner, both choosing the Fuyu persimmon salad with mustard greens, manchego, pecans, and sherry vinaigrette. My friend liked the glazed pecans in the salad and I loved the fresh, thinly sliced persimmons. The vinaigrette was light and tasty. She had a glass of Chardonnay "Au Bon Climat" from Santa Barbara and I had a glass of the French Chenin Blanc. The fish of the day, which I think was a yellow fin hake, was presented on a bed of nettles, crushed potato, yuzu, créme fraîche, and buckwheat. The fish was delicately cooked, beautifully presented, and we both cleaned our plates completely. For this course, I ordered the Chardonnay and had it with my dessert as well. For dessert, she ordered the Vacherin, which is a chocolate/coffee lover's nirvana. She tried the 10-year Tawny Port, which was really terrific. I ordered the Moliterno Cheese dessert, which came with a Bartlett pear, celery and seeded crackers. It paired perfectly with the chard. On Wednesday nights, a jazz trio begins playing at 6:30. We had to leave at 7:00 for another show, but really enjoyed their first set and muscianship. The only downer was the lack of patrons in this lovely restaurant. I hope opera, symphony, and Bill Graham concertgoers will stop by before their shows. Everything was wonder.

Very attentive staff. Asked about our timeline to get to our event. Food was well presented and was delicious.

My partner and I came for our anniversary. Unfortunately, a lot of things did not go very well.

Firstly, the website implies that there is live music every night. My partner is very attentive and that is why he chose to book this place. However, when we walked in on a Wednesday, we were told that there’s only live music on Thursdays. That was disappointing.

Then we looked at the menus and were really excited by the fish and the duck. When we started to order, the waiter said he forgot to tell us this sooner (oops!), but they were out of fish and duck and only had the vegetarian option and a chicken substitute. Also very disappointing.

We had put anniversary on the reservation and were not offered any champagne or dessert either which is typical for a place of this caliber.

The food itself was pretty solid and even though the staff messed up, they were nice. Hence 2 stars. But overall I would not have paid that much for eggplant and no live music.

We had a show at the Orpheum at 7:30 pm on Saturday, and choice Uccello for its location (it's 3 blocks away from the theatre). The dining room is lovely - floor to ceiling windows provide wonderful natural light & a nice view of Van Ness. Service was friendly but not aggressively so. Drinks were well made and first course served quickly. Our main entrees were perfectly cooked and well-executed. The trout came with side dishes full of texture & flavor. The only downside was there was no dairy-free dessert option as part of the set-menu. The restaurant was able to substitute mango sorbet for us but I would've liked to see something more creative. Overall - highly recommended as a great pre-show venue.

Absolutely! Here's a polished review opener you can use to highlight Uccello's cocktail experience with flair: --- Prefix Review for Uccello 🍸 From the moment we stepped into Uccello, the ambiance whispered sophistication and the cocktails shouted brilliance. Each drink was a masterclass in balance and creativity—whether it was the Empress Gin fizzed with brut champagne or the sultry espresso martini kissed with vanilla syrup. The mixology here isn't just impressive—it's expressive. Uccello doesn't serve drinks; it curates moments.Enjoyed all before the show!!!

We had a PERFECT pre-Symphony meal: a crisp salad with fennel, various greens, toasted hazelnuts and sliced apple; roast chicken with Jimmy Nardello peppers and roasted potatoes, and a Vacherin dessert "to die for"! Service was fast and friendly. We will make this one of our regulars on Symphony and Ballet nights. Kudos to the chef and staff!

What a great experience and value. From the service, food (tasting menu at this price point) the cocktails. All on point. A little quiet as it was a quiet night, but I'm sure when it's a busier event or night- it's even more electric. What a great value for a pre-show dining experience.

Whenever I go to Uccello's I order a 0-negroni, that I cannot get elsewhere. Ulysses makes it perfectly, but sometimes I ask for a dash of angostura. We like the new arrangement of prix fixe because the selections always include fish, which is my favorite food. I had halibut that was sauteed and a little crisp, but not dried out. My dining companion loved her eggplant preparation. Of course, we will be back.

This is a neighborhood gem for pre-theater dining. the food is interesting, the service attentive.

This restaurant is a hidden gem on Van Ness across from Davies Symphony Hall. Anytime we have tickets for the theatre, opera or symphony we already eat dinner at Uccello Lounge. A 5-star experience.

Good service, superb food, wine list was not wines we were familiar with but we found a glass of wine that was fine.
