Giving my honest review. The food wasn't good I tried the pad thai, it had too much soy sauce and it lacked other flavors, I got charged $3 extra to add shrimp but only 3 shrimps were added and the rice was hard and dry. I ordered to go and the service was fast but provided no utensils. The plates go for over $20. Honestly not worth the money.

Oh geez..firrs off..just beware of the food you get when you ordered take out. I hate to be giving bad review. But they made me to. I ordered 4 items for take outs; fish cake, green bean tofu, crispy basil tofu and rice for pickup. When I got home; first thing I opened was rice. Sorry, but being Asian myself and eat and cook rice my whole life; I know when rice isn’t fresh. It was rotten rice. I opened the box of rice and first thing I smelled was the smell of old rice that’s been in rice cooker for a week! Yikes! Not just that, the rice was watery. That explained why I can tell right away the rice was bad. I called and told them that they gave me old rice. They offered replacement (thanks), so I had to drive over to get a replacement. When I got there, the nice guy who took the order told the lady in the kitchen about the rice, and I could hear her laughing!! Seriously?!? She’s laughing!? Seems like they deliberately gave me rotten soggy, rotten, smelly rice! Wow! I was speechless! So much for trying to be kind and gave $5 tips for take out food I picked up myself. Never again!! Wow..just wow! Now, not sure if I want to eat them at all and report them to the health department. Lost appetite for having to go through the whole ordeal. Just sad; this would be my last giving them business. I work at the hospital, and being given rotten rice for my take out lunch was just horrible. Sadly I had to file a report about this incident to CDPH to help prevent the same thing happening to future paying customers. I’ve been living in the neighborhood for 19 years; this restaurant used to be good. Not anymore with the new owner.

I like to think that I'm highly credible in representing your average San Francisco resident who is rating a cuisine not related to my ethnicity. 1. I eat Thai food fairly regularly; maybe 1/3 of the time we do take-out (signal: we quite Thai food, as does a lot of SF). 2. My family has a regular "go-to" Thai restaurant that we rarely stray from (signal: not very adventurous; when we find a place that works, we stick to it.) 3. I've traveled to Thailand, most recently to Phuket, so I have an idea of what typical tourist-trappy-restaurant-Thai food tastes like (signal: we're not that boring, we do go to exotic places, see). My family of 4 includes 2 teenagers, have now eaten Vanida's Thai about maybe 5 times, and so I am happy to give them my meager thanks: 5 stars! First, let me tell you that I have no idea whether the lady who answers the phone is a good listener or not or how slow the service is. Our experience: 1. The food is very, very, very good though next time, I'm going to check off "Extra Hot" as they must have run out of Thai green chillies. The Green Curry today, when displayed in its magnificence on a white bowl, was clean-looking, the vegetables just-so-soft-but-not-mushy, the colors not-food-colored. I've never, ever, ever liked zucchini, gingerly picking it out and surreptitiously insinkerating it. Today's Green Curry with Tofu made me a zucchini-convert. And that tofu, not overly fried at all (though I wish there was an option on DoorDash ordering to customize this to be fully-soft-and-not-fried Tofu). My better half swears by the Penang Curry-lookalike, and she's been to Penang a lot (yes, yes, I know that's not in Thailand). My fussy teenagers insist on the Chicken Fried Rice, though one did say it was too sticky (whatever, eye roll). 2. Wait-time after ordering -- excellent! Usually never waited, and if so, maybe a couple of minutes for the waitress to finish tending to the tables. A friendly smile would probably get this joint all 5-stars. Honestly, I don't understand why people write reviews and say they loved the food, have no gripes, and then give it a measly 4-stars. Really? C'mon people, you are better than that. Mildred C from Washington, I'm looking at you. Uh huh. 3. Thai Hot sauce--the real deal. Ok, they probably buy this in bulk, but who cares that it's not prepared by crushing Thai prik-num peppers under the sultry feet of virgins dancing at the full moon rave? I mean, succulently hot but not too sweet. I asked my daughter to ask for two containers, and they gave me two appropriately hefty, nicely filled-out containers. The other Thai place my family always wants to order from: their hot sauce containers have shrunk over the past 20 years to the point I need a dropper to suck out the sauce. Finally, the owner sounds like she really cares. Check out the reviews. If it's bad, she'll write an appropriately tearful note, declaring that no one must have such an experience, ever; if it's good, she'll welcome them back and you can almost see her smiling. Appropriate to the culture in Thailand, she must have good review karma, so 5 stars it is! (Now you 4-star people who have no gripes at all and declare the food really good, for Pete's sake - no idea who Pete is, but for his sake, anyway - make it 5-stars; it's not like you have limited stars to give away on Yelp. Hey, Willie B from Mansion Flats, Sacramento, you drove here 2 hours to eat Thai food, right? Liked it, right? No service issues? I mean, c'mon, what's with the Sacramento crowd?). P.S. We order under the name "Zara" or "Vik" in case next time you want to add an extra hot sauce container. Ok, this is not a bribe review.

So so good!!! Great Thai spot for vegetarians. Stumbled upon this place on a Saturday evening. It is a cozy restaurant that is great for date night. The food is DELICIOUS. Highly recommend the Miang Kum, which was unique and fresh. The drunken noodle and mango curry were really good, as well. Service was wonderful too. Had a wonderful time and cannot wait to go back.

I finally decided to check out this cute little Thai restaurant in my neighborhood! It was very clean, had a cozy atmosphere, good service, and very reasonable prices! Even the menus were clean! I ordered the green curry, pad see ew, and a curry soup with fried noodles! Everything was delicious! I'm excited to find this local gem and will definitely return!

caution! new front guy cannot comprehend English, so screws up phone orders. so I went in today personally and he left me at my table 15 minutes without even asking what I wanted to order. I think he's on M-Thurs, maybe weekend also. The Thurs Fri guy is great, been serving me delicious Thai food for years with no problems. the new guy is so bad Ive hung up twice after trying to do a simple order. too bad, it's. my fav place in outer sunset

We stopped in here for dinner after a nice walk, the restaurant is located in the middle of the block and I feel like it's easy to miss if you don't look closely. We ordered the roast duck curry and the pad thai with shrimp. Both dishes were delicious! Be warned, we ordered the mild roast duck curry, but it was still a little spicy. The only thing I wish they would have added some potatoes. The Pad Thai was also very tasty, not too sweet or sour.

This cozy Thai restaurant in the Sunset area is a small gem. As expected in the city, parking can be a bit challenging, but once inside, you'll find a colorful and charming interior with plenty of decorative elements to catch your eye. I have a guilty pleasure for admiring the decor in restaurants; anyone else? Our group was seated promptly, and even though it was a Friday night, the place wasn't too crowded. Our waiter was friendly and helpful, especially to those in our group who were new to Thai cuisine. However, there was another waitress who appeared quite irritated with our questions, displaying impatience and a general disinterest. As for the food, it was a delightful Thai feast. I sampled a bit of everything: pad thai, baby corn chicken, eggplant dish, yellow curry, and sticky rice with mango. The overall experience was very satisfying. The pad thai was slightly drier than what I've had elsewhere, but it didn't detract significantly from its flavor. The sticky rice with mango, on the other hand, was a refreshing dessert and easily one of my favorites. While it wasn't the absolute best I've ever had, the food at Vanida left me satisfied.Overall, apart from the one less-than-friendly waitress, it was a good dining experience.

Friendly neighborhood Thai place with great food and friendly servers not far from the beach in the Outer Sunset.Relaxed vibe, natural decor with beautiful paintings and photography on the walls. Many may be familiar with their very popular booth at the Sunset Farmers Market, but this is the mothership! Just a cute little place tucked in alongside North Beach Pizza and a new Boba joint next door. You really can't go wrong on the menu here, but I especially enjoyed their rendition of their Pad See Ew (stir fried wide rice noodles in a sweet soy glaze served with Chinese Broccoli, fried egg and your choice of meat ( pork, chicken, or for $5 extra - seafood). The side salad of mixed greens that came with it was pretty good too!Pad Thai - beautifully presented, and on point! We've been here a few times now and it's still worth coming back.
