Welcoming and authentic Italian restaurant in Bernal Heights. Was moderately busy on a Tuesday evening but they had a table for us as walk-ins. Great food and service. The rigatoni with meat balls was delicious, the warm artichoke starter was tasty. Nice wine list, Valpolicella and house red both lovely. Tiramisu is not to be missed! Appreciate the soft lighting and sound proofing which creates a cozy, enjoyable atmosphere for conversations and connection.

Have been to Vega thousands of times, feel like it’s the second home to me:) I am not a huge pizza lover but I really love Vega’s pizza:) it’s very thin yet super flavorful. My favorite dish there is the secret menu dish Squid ink pasta, definitely on the savory side but super umami 😋

Extensive tasty menu. Everything we had was awesome. We did family style and split all dishes to maximize tasting opportunity.

I walked in on a busy Friday night and the staff immediately found me a spot in a cute nook. The pasta was handmade and delicious. The burrata was refreshing. I can’t wait to come back!
Comically small portions. Got about 2-3 oz of the halibut (daily catch) for $32 before tip. Won’t be coming back.

Vega, genuine, good Italian style eatery in the Bernal heights area, street parking available, but can be a challenge. Lunch inside or out, inside was kind of dark I thought. The food was well prepared and came fast, we were five and we all had something different, I will only speak for my choice, no appetizers, I ordered the baked halibut served over mashed potatoes with a cherries tomato and calamata olives sauce, tasty and good.Served by the owner Gianpietro. Price commensurate with restaurant food price in SF, if you have wine, appetizer, entree and dessert, count on minimum $50 depending on what you order. We will go back and try other dishes. Arrivedici!
Long-standing family restaurant with excellent food and excellent charm.
