Apparently "healthy" means seasoning free. it was dead silent, the air was thick with oil and must, and the food wasn't even salted. I got the chicken katsu and it was crunchy enough, but again, no seasoning. it came with a sweet and sour sauce, and that was the only source of flavor in the whole everything. I also got mango sticky rice. it was proudly flavor free and chronically overcooked to a sad conglomerate block. this place is a definite skip for me.

I don't think anything was seasoned. Look at the photos of the non breaded chicken, it tastes exactly how it looks: bland and boiled. How is this considered Thai food? Sixteen dollars for a plate of chicken and rice with no flavor. Even the hot sauce tasted like it came out of a can. 2 stars for it being edible, at least it didn't taste bad and I didn't get sick

First timer here and the food blew is away, in a fabulous way ?Simple menu, and food is simply unpretentious and delicious. Chicken white meat based menu, paired with soup and rice. It's clean, it's tasteful, it's just good. If you're in this neighborhood you should give this place a try! ????

Reminder that the flavor profile is different from other Hainanese Chicken. In comparison to places like Chicken Meets Rice, What the Cluck does not meet up to that expectation. The portion is smaller. We ordered the following:- Hainanese Chicken- Classic Khao Man GaiThe chicken was dry, so you definitely need the sauce. The rice was more Al dente.

Food quality wasn’t good. The chicken had weird chewy parts that we had to cut out.Service wasn’t good either.

Asked for all chicken thighs with skin, still got a bunch of chicken breast with no skin. I don't understand. Like it's the same price so why not let people have preference? I even payed the "tip the chef" expecting them to be at least nice enough. The other place where also sells hainan chicken rice called GAI chicken rice they only use chicken thighs, which I prefer way more and they have a lot more sauces options. But the original sauce here is pretty good and please don't try the sweet soy sauce, tasted like NyQuil. The baby spinach is a surprise since the large amount. I like that.Chicken soup is basic. The fried chicken skin (cluckins) has a lot of hair and sometimes bones...they can really do their job better this is just lazy. I also don't like how it doesn't have any salt or seasoning at all cuz not everyone likes a dip. The dip is just a regular Thai sweet chili sauce. The only thing I prefer this place than GAI is they sells chicken livers, it's healthy for me to eat them and they taste pretty good with the sauce.

Ordered and paid to eat there, got my food, and only after giving me my food did they tell me that they’re “closed early for dine-in” and I’d have to leave. Not only that, but she was rude about it and told me it was my fault for not asking. Why would I assume otherwise? The place was still open, no chairs were up, and she didn’t ask me if I wanted to dine in or takeout.0/10 wouldn’t return due to this interaction.

The food is good but the portions are very small.I ordered the Ultimate plate which runs about $19 bucks without tax. It turns out it's the same size plate as the other plates, but has a small poached egg and a couple pieces of chicken liver added to it. The flavor and the texture of the chicken and rice was good. It just wasn't enough food - I ended up eating a couple slices of pizza afterwards. I also would not recommend going with anything other than the basic plates since there isn't really any difference in the amount of food you get.

I usually don't wright reviews, but I need to say something about there chicken katsu. The chicken was so dry that it got stuck in my throat. It's like dog jerky! I had to throw my entire entree away. Wasted $16.95

Lucious broth soup and chicken. Fresh ingredients and a truly comforting meal. Had the San Franciscan with a side of ginger rice. Ordered for pickup and it was hot and ready in less than 10 minutes. Will definitely go back again.

Delicious and fresh! Love the sauces and the rice. The rice is super flavorful and pairs nicely with the poached chicken and sauces. Did I mention sauces??

Pricey for very little food. It was around ~$16 to $17 dollars for very little food. In addition, my soup was not sealed properly so it spilled. The proportions were very little for the price and the rice was somewhat dry and the sauce did not go super well with the chicken. In addition, there were no utensils provided and there was no option to ask. I was in a rush when getting this food and was lucky there were utensils in my car. Parking was somewhat easy as there is street parking in nearby neighborhoods. However, it can be difficult with the amount of traffic present.

Charging $18 for fried chicken, mildly ginger rice, RAW spinach and cucumbers is crazy to me. Food came out fast, service was good, and the restaurant had limited seating. The chicken katsu I got should be $12 MAX.
