Finally a mysterious NY like speakeasy in San Fran. Interesting menu & concept but less exhilarating and more of an intimate date spot. Service is decent & cocktails are creative although would’ve liked some humor from the bartender given the concept.

Great place for a speakeasy experience. Curated cocktails. Large selection of bourbons
No food. Good drinks and great service.
We had previously been to, and LOVED, Bourbon and Branch. We decided on a whim to try Wilson and Wilson, thinking it might be similar. The vibe is similar, but definitely more casual, and the mixed drink menu is MUCH smaller. We were hoping for far more creative concoction choices. Instead, they have an extensive and somewhat overpriced whiskey and scotch menu.
This place was such a great addition to one of our evenings. We were visiting San Francisco on a quick weekend trip. We love whiskey and a well crafted cocktail, but the atmosphere was incredible and the staff were great. Would highly recommend stopping in for at least one drink if you have time, don't skip the Library on your way out. Some of the books have fun little hand written stories in the front... and there is always time for one final drink.

Fantabulous drinks and vibes. Shout out to our bartender Ross, whose concocted libations were complex and layered. Much respect to your craft.

Wilson & Wilson, located within Bourbon & Branch, is hidden behind a wooden wall. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The smaller cocktail menu is creatively themed around police case files, which we found cute. A reservation is necessary, so plan ahead. Although our reservations for Bourbon & Branch and Wilson & Wilson got mixed up, it wasn’t an issue. Walking from this area, which borders the Tenderloin, we noticed that the homeless population largely kept to themselves. Interestingly, there were fewer homeless people at night compared to around 7:30 PM, making the area feel safer after dark (we walked from our hotel - 2 females). Similar to Bourbon & Branch, Wilson & Wilson also has a no pictures, no cell phone policy. Despite this, I had my phone out briefly to answer some messages, and no one seemed to mind though I wouldn’t suggest having it out all the time. This place is not for partying; it caters to quieter, smaller groups. I wish we could take photos to share the experience with our friends back home, but it is what it is.

The bar tender was not personable, and did not try to cater to our tastes or preferences. Rather, he just presented their limited, printed menu and expected us to pick from there. Very disappointing experience. Not what I expected from the hyped up description.
Cool @$$ place! this is a Real speakeasy!!! The drinks are one of a kind, hand crafted, the bartenders don't joke around with the crafted drinks

Visiting from out of town, was able to make reservations day before. $18 a cocktail on the tasting menu, $7 for a beer. Great service and enjoyable environment. Would return.

So it gets complicated. See, there's this Library style bar. But there's a speakeasy called Bourbon and Branch through a door on the right hand side. And there's a speakeasy speakeasy in the back of the Bourbon and Branch speakeasy. Wilson and Wilson Detective Agency is a cool, quiet and friendly speakeasy. To get in, you MUST make a reservation (thewilsonbar.com) and time is limited to 90 minutes, although you can stretch it if it's not busy. The drinks are unique and excellently crafted. A few were not to our particular taste, but they were innovative, such as one that used fennel (I know, WTF) but it was really good. Their drink menu is set up like a food menu, with starters, mains and dessert. You don't have to order all three, just pick and choose and all drinks are $18.00. The atmosphere is quiet elegance so chatting amongst friends is easy. Pro: Innovative and tasty cocktails, a fun menu structured like a case file and a nice decor. Con: Pricey. The drinks come with added tax and one of those BS San Francisco surcharges for whatever, so figure out the door you're at $25 per cocktail Quirky: The address is 501 Jones Street but, naw, you can't actually enter at 501 Jones Street. I mean, that would be too easy. Instead, go around the corner to O'Farrell and there's an unmarked door next to The Crosby. That's the entrance to the Library, there's a semi-hidden door on the right to the Bourbon and Branch speakeasy and let them know you're there, and they will escort you to the Wilson and Wilson Detective Agency.
This is a speakeasy bar inside of Bourbon and Branch speakeasy. It acts like an old detective branch the menu even has old detective files to look at. It’s another experience inside of a speakeasy bar.
