Avoid it. The whole place is one great scam. I cannot remember being in a cafe where I would less want to eat or drink something
A story of three friends including one focused on how Food ties into social interaction and cultural understanding Wise Sons Jewish Delicatessen began in 2010, their expansion from The Mission flagship all the way down to Culver City thanks to “California-inspired Jewish deli food with roots in tradition and an eye on the future; for Jews who like food and food lovers who like Jews.” Founded by Evan Bloom, Ari Bloom and Leo Beckerman, each bringing unique skills to an operation focused on making nearly everything in-house, it was minutes after 9:00am on Christmas Day that the Deli on 24th Street was found quiet, the lack of queue seeing everything served within ten minutes at prices far below the Bay Area average. Using good ingredients, natural Beef Pastrami with complex spicing layered between real Jewish Rye just $15.50 with a Kosher Pickle, guests are also encouraged to order Matzo Ball Soup with a big Dumpling floating in Broth laced with Dill. No Babka on this morning, all of it committed to pre-orders, 72% Bittersweet Guittard Chocolate instead finds itself suspended in Cookies with flakes of Salt while Rugelach for $2 a bite is fairly basic considering the rest. Not forgetting a Bagel, well made with a good skin and plenty of chew, Cream Cheese comes complimentary just as good Butter, real Maple Syrup and Jam do with Challah French Toast cooked golden but still custardy in the middle.
The OG Ruben is amazing.
I recommend
I got the smoked salmon bagel and it was so good!
OK, start with the cinnamon-walnut rugelach. I am not kidding. It is the most buttery, nutty, delicious yums you will eat this year. Just start with two or three. Then, go to the Number 19 with corned beef. It was outstanding. Especially because the bread was perfect and the meat was not too salty. Trust me, though, start with dessert!
I saw the sign and thought okay I'll grab a sammie and that'll take care of lunch, boy was I a dreamer, charging 36 a pound for Boars Head pastrami is steeper than Lombard street.I'll grab a sandwich at the other guy's booth, at least they offer more than 3 selections of deli meats.
Excellent Jewish deli and very reasonable prices. I loved the corned beef sandwich and my wife loved her breakfast burrito with pastrami. We were both quite full after our meal.

I was excited when we coincidently parked in front of Wise Sons Jewish Delicatessen. I admit I was snowed by the signage that said the pastrami was made in house. I confused house made with good tasting. Having lived for nearly two decades around New York City and now living in the Bay Area I often have good pastrami sandwich withdrawals and my hope springs eternal that I’ll find some place even a fraction as good as Katz in NYC. The pastrami sandwich at Wise Sons is indeed a fraction as good but it is a very small fraction. Let me put it this way. Making a pastrami sandwich at home with even just decent rye bread and packaged pastrami from Costco is significantly better. The meat was really dry and not flavorful (of beef or spices). The portion of meat was embarrassingly small. All piled up in the center to fake the eater out but once you redistribute it across the bread, it is the thinnest of a layer. To be fair, the rye bread was excellent. My wife got the Matzo Ball Soup. It was terrible. I told her to return it but she ate half and left the rest. It tasted very stale and old, like it was weeks old. And it was served luke warm. Two women sitting next to us ordered the potato latkes, they too looking like they had been prepared days or more in advance and then just lightly heater up. They look greasy and unappetizing. Maybe they tasted OK but after seeing them I would not bet on it. Service was friendly. All and all, I would never return to any of the Wise Sons delis. Really disappointing.

Very quick pit-stop here on the recommendation of our cycling guide. We sat outside on erected seats on the pavement. The Reubens was a standout. Chips and bespoke coca cola were good. Would come back with more time.
Two stars for location only. Worst bagels in the world they are cold, hard as a rock and stale. I think this place is only in business because of tourists. I can't imagine them having a regular customer that's how bad this place is.
Stopped by to grab dinner and loved getting breakfast for dinner (yes pls). Corned Beef Hash was great, service was strong and the location was nice and clean. Swing by if you are in the area.
Located inside the Jewish Contemporary Museum the deli has a takeout window and 6 tables for 2 on the outside patio of the museum-far enough from Mission street traffic to make it enjoyable on a sunny day. I really enjoyed their Hillcrest salad which has some smoked Turkey and crispy pastrami with lots of greens, plus cucumber, radish, Swiss cheese, lemon vinaigrette. Very fresh and tasty!! One of my favorite spots after enjoying the museum- also very close to SFMOMA, California Historical Society, and Westfield shopping mall.
Pretty expensive but on par with San Francisco. The chocolate mini croissants were really chocolatey and delicious.
