I came by this bakery yesterday and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was! I got the pineapple bun (no filling) and the paper wrapped sponge cake and both were exceptional...might be the best I've had in SF Chinatown. The pineapple bun and a thick outer layer which made for a nice crunch. It was sweet and buttery, which was the perfect topping to the fluffy warm bun. The sponge cake was very airy and melts in your mouth. It had a warm vanilla and eggy flavor, which I appreciated as other bakeries usually make them more plain.

The shop itself is nothing fancy and looks like your run of the mill Chinese bakery. The lady who helped me felt like she was rushing me and had a bit of an attitude, but that's a given coming to these kinda places. But, don't be discouraged, the food is worth it though!

We came here on a rainy day searching for some pastries for our train ride back to the South Bay. This place did not disappoint. There was a huge variety to choose from and everything looked so fresh and mouthwatering.

We bought a moon cake, egg tart, several buns and cakes, the total came out to about $12, for maybe 5 or 6 items. The price is very reasonable, and the taste was exquisite. I highly recommend this place, there are a huge variety of vegetarian and non vegetarian options, sweet bread loaves, and moon cake flavors. The service was also exquisite.

We are eager to come back and try more pastries!

One of my favorites in Chinatown for egg tarts, they have regular and egg white, sometimes you have to wait a bit bc they sell out throughout the day. No place to sit, highly recommend. They take venmo if you don’t have cash

We got some bakery items from this small bakery in Chinatown. The bakery items were delicious. The egg-whites tart was unique and very delicious — not too sweet and filling. Service was good but the lines long at this small establishment —well worth the wait, however. We are looking forward to returning again to bring some treats home on the next visit to Chinatown San Francisco.

Excellent dessert but this place has a dishonest (and unfriendly) employee. We were there today on 10/1, 5 pm.
So we bought a cheesecake ($20), a sponge cake loaf ($12 - 13), 2 pineapple buns ($3 each), 1 shredded pork bun ($3.75?), 1 egg tart, 1 sesame bun, and 1 green tea bun. We don't remember prices for some of these items but there is no way that this comes out to be $61+.

I stopped by Yummy Bakery & Cafe in Chinatown and tried their egg tarts, and they were absolutely worth it. The crust was flaky, buttery, and light, while the custard filling was smooth, silky, and not overly sweet. It had that perfect balance that makes you want to eat more than one. The bakery itself is a classic Hong Kong–style spot with lots of fresh buns and pastries lined up in the case, and the smell of fresh bread hits you as soon as you walk in. Prices are very reasonable, and everything feels fresh out of the oven. It’s a no-frills place, but that’s the charm—it’s all about the quality of the pastries. If you’re in Chinatown and craving a good egg tart, this is definitely a place to stop by.

This is a very small bakery with no sitting space but their baked products are just amazing. We particularly liked the Japan Style Cheese Cake and the Pineapple bun.

This bakery still wouldn’t let you come inside due to “Covid”… it’s 2025. You have to order from outside, which would be fine, except there’s no posted menu with prices. On top of that, they only take cash. Really strange experience.

Their custard puffs are amazing! When I visited, they had just come out of the oven and were still warm—absolutely delicious.
