Love the vibe and service was great, but the texture of the iced ube vietnamese latte was so lumpy :(

We've been visiting this place since 2007. It has a warm, homey atmosphere that we love. Sometimes, you can even watch the coffee beans being roasted ☕. They sell Blue Mountain coffee beans, and there's outdoor seating surrounded by a few coffee trees. The owner is very friendly and welcoming.

Hidden gem in every possible way. Extremely cozy seatings, a unique selection of Hong Kong style snacks and beverages and beyond (e.g., HK style egg waffles), and heart-warming services (uncle would sweetly urge us to eat if we hold off for too long, so cute!) This neighborhood coffee shop almost runs against the capitalistic logic. Such a labor of love. Full of compassion and positive vibes. Great hospitality. ❤️

Mixed feelings about this place. I’ve been a frequent guest over the years and my experiences have varied. I first came here to study a few years back. Ordered the popcorn chicken and a Mexican Mocha. They were both delicious and my only complaint at the time was the owner kept visiting my table to try to sell me something every 15 minutes or so. It was very distracting. The last couple times I’ve gone, the owner always seems to be in a cranky mood and it’s hard to tell if he actually heard your order. I once wanted to order two drinks and food but as soon as I told him the first drink of my order, he walked off. I then had to make several attempts to get my entire order down and he seemed entirely over it. He treats Mandarin speaking guests very kindly; smiling, joking, offering seating, but it’s a night and day difference when he speaks to English speaking guests.
Otherwise, the food and drink is delicious If you don’t mind being served on paper plates and plastic cups. I guess the owner is not a fan of dish duty.
The cleanliness is also in question. It’s a normal occurrence to see roach bodies littered throughout the establishment, uncleaned tables, and general clutter and dust collection.
I see a lot of hype around the waffles but honestly, spare yourself the money spent. It is nothing special.
TLDR; if you close your eyes when inside and take your food to go, you will love it. Don’t look to hard at the interior.

Amazing , FRESH roast. DELICIOUS egg waffle. Warm, friendly owners ! Stop buying garbage from the grocery store & get the quality stuff here
This is a small coffee shop located on San Gabriel Blvd. It is full of characters. There are a lot of vintage coffee related decorations. They also rent out tools to make egg waffles.
The barista is a very friendly gentleman. He can make coffee based on personal preference. For example, specific flavor and how strong it should be.
I ordered ube coffee with non-fat milk instead of coconut milk because I do not like coconut flavored drinks. The coffee came out good and full of ube flavor! I like it.
He accept cash, card, and zelle. Perfect if we happened to forget our wallet at home, and still want a cup of coffee!
There are 2 parking spots in the back, and street parking is available. This is a very convenient location, and I will come back for more coffee.

This coffee shop is very near where I live and is absolutely fantastic. The owner offered to “roast me anything I’d like” a few years back and I’ve been drinking a custom ordered light roast Costa Rican coffee from this place for the last few years. My Italian housemate raves about this coffee. They have la huge variety of homemade food and a bunch of really interesting coffee and tea drinks. And they have a few ethnic things in house like durian smoothies and Golden Egg coffee. I recommend the pizza they make on the croissant dough and the Iced Dirty Chai with boba.

Visited this quirky coffee spot today. We ordered the Vietnamese coffee and coffee temptation. We also ordered a freshly made spam musubi. Drinks were really good and the spam tasted healthy and had good flavor.
Recommend if in the area!

The food I had there was a vegetable pizza baked on a filo dough! It was delicious! But, unfortunatey, the atmosphere is small, cramped, and crowded with all those china cabinets and "vintage" items! Their "ube" latte is NOT what I expected, it turned out to be a white sweet potato! CHEATERS!

Epic! Best Cafe in LA.
Jimmy has owned it for 30 years, roasts the coffee and makes all the food. There is love and bossiness in all of it and it's legit better than trendy place further in.
Just tried the Hong Kong egg waffle - there is no emoji to express it's perfection.
Had the siphon coffee last time. Same gushy review as latter.
