I've never eaten at any Japanese Reasturants that did not serve Japanese rice in the Bento box. I love Tonkotsu ramen. I've never left Tonkotsu uneaten. They were so bland. The Seafood Udon was ok.

Wonderful staff and food. The sushi was fantastic and the rolls were very large. The red dragon was amazing with the sauces and crunchies. The tempura phili was really good and my new favorite way to eat a phili roll. We also got the devil may cry and it was really fresh and delicious. Make sure to try the garlic edamame and mixed tempura veggies! Will be going back!

Service was horrible, kept passing by as if we weren’t there and I timed it, took 50 min for a server to check up on us, asked for items and never were brought, you see the servers getting drunk with other customers

I've been coming here for my sushi fix for 5 years and the food has been consistently good. I enjoy their omakase or chirashi bowl. The fish they serve is delicious and fresh. My friend doesn't eat raw fish so she always gets their cooked dishes. She always get their Tokyo fried rice or stir fried udon and never disappoints . We even enjoy their vegetarian rolls! The quality and freshness of their food is good that it's worth the price compared to other Japanese restaurants in the SGV neighborhood.

Service and Ambiance - this restaurant is family oriented so kid friendly, casual and chill. Service is good with staff always welcoming, friendly and attentive.

If you want the best service for a small party of two or three, sit at the bar; more than that just sit at a booth. Service is wonderful; I’ve been coming here for over 10+ years with 50+ visits. Always a pleasure to be greeted and always made reservations. Every server & chef is accommodating. They work to the extreme to make you feel special. I arrived on 8/9/2024 after making a reservation for myself at the bar; and was quickly sat down. They have QR codes for menu now and also omasake, which made me baffled! I haven’t been here for two years and their dishes improved; they definitely “spiced” things up. (: in general, no 1 KAZOKU is the best spot in sgv. Though be careful, they have two different types of uni- Santa Barbra & hokaido uni. Ask they for a test to see if your taste buds matches your flavor. Sake is always a must which is kikusui junmai! ❤️
