No. 1 Kazoku isn't that great. I have tried most Japanese restaurants in SGV and Little Tokyo. This place also used to be another restaurant selling the same cuisine many years back, but sold to new owners more than a decade ago.Firstly, the food is expensive for what it is. I once spent almost $100 here just trying a few dishes out. Could have gotten full for cheaper elsewhere. I think they buy their sashimi from Yama Seafood. Might as well go over there instead. The ambiance is great, but I was disappointed that their food just falls short of expectations. They only serve oysters at dinnertime.I would just come back for is the salmon skin salad. Even then, portions are too small and pricy.

Their food is more for connessieurs. For example, their salmon is from Norway. You can taste the ice cold water. It's just different. Of course, these things comes with a higher price tag but not outrageously higher. Service is attentive as it should. Not your normal sushi place if you crave the finer things in life.

One of the best sushi spot in San Gabriel, service is excellent, fresh fish. I was there for a lunch Omakase 13 course, can't ask more for the price that comes with the food and service.

Food was yummy ! Multiple options! And just rigged ambient as San Gabriel is like mini -Asian community .

Soooo impressed! Came here for a lunch omakase (13 course) left super fulfilled. Called ahead to make a reservation for later the same week. There were 3 cold starters, 6 nigiri courses, and 3 hot kitchen courses, wrapped with a dessert made in house. My favorites for each category were: fresh live scallop with assorted fish eggs, kinmedai nigiri, sea conch, and japanese plum ice cream. I won't go into the details of all the dishes and ruin the surprise but wow, just wow. Great service all around, definitely took advantage of the unlimited hot tea refill (joke by one of the servers)! Now I won't have to drive west for my sushi cravings. Will for sure be returning to try their yakitori as well. What a little gem in the heart of SGV!

We came during lunch and we had the Omakase. We got the Groupon deal and it was so worth it. Every plate was exquisite and delicious. My favorites were the toro, aji, and tiger shrimp hand roll. The shrimp topped with uni and gold flakes was so pretty. My husband really enjoyed the clam soup. I was so impressed by their homemade black sesame ice cream and ube mochi. Everything was yummy!!!

Went here at a friend recommendation!Had the monkey brains, the garlic albacore roll, chicken jidori, and beef tongue! Obviously this is a limited review of a one time experience, and I didn't get to try a lot of other things like their sashimi! But I enjoyed it! Service was friendly and helpful! If you're looking just for a good local sushi joint, this is a good go to!Would recommend for all casual occasions especially with friends and family!

Pleasantly surprised of the freshness and tastiness of all the sashimi and yakitori dishes ordered. We ordered different sashimi (raw shrimp, black sea bream, chu-toro, uni, or-toro), oysters, unagi, and yakitori (beef tongue, chicken wings& chicken gizzards).Service was quick and orders were accurate. We'll be back!

A reliable sushi restaurant with a nice selection of rolls as well. When they have oysters on their specials menu they are definitely worth it. Service is quick and friendly.
