This was our first time visiting this chain’s location in San Gabriel. It is more spacious and the food quality is good. There were only two minor issues: There was no one checking the waitlist at the main entrance when we got there. The bathrooms only allow one person at a time. Other than those overall it is a very well managed restaurant.

Over the past several years I've had my birthday dinner at Lameizi Hot Pot, either at the Rowland Heights branch or the San Gabriel one. I didn't go there specifically for my birthday; it just happened by coincidence. I tend to crave hot pot about twice a year. Interesting pattern.

Every time I went to the Rowland Heights branch, it was because I needed an oil change at KB Motor. There aren't many dining options in that area. But KB Motor is getting more and more expensive, so I don't think I'll have the chance to visit Lameizi in Rowland Heights again.

The good news is that Lameizi in San Gabriel is even closer to my home. That location has newer and better renovation than the Rowland Heights one, and the food is even slightly better.

Lameizi represents the standard, classic, middle-of-the-road hot pot in the San Gabriel Valley. In China, it would probably be considered below average. But here, it offers fresh and clean meats, good portions, and traditional soup bases. You don't really run the risk of ordering anything bad. It's just average, but in a good way. Nothing stands out, but nothing disappoints.

By the way, they've stopped offering the free Sichuan pepper peanuts at the dipping station, which used to be one of my favorites.

The decor was on point — warm yellow lighting gave the whole place a cozy and welcoming vibe. Their self-service bar is just $2.98 per person and totally worth it. It’s packed with snacks, desserts, tons of hotpot ingredients, and all the spices you need to make your own custom sauce. Just a heads-up: don’t go for the beef combo if you’re expecting the usual thin-sliced hotpot beef. It came as a whole beef steak — super tender and flavorful, but not the easiest to chew if you have braces like I do! Other than that, everything was amazing. Highly recommend!

The food environment is good, but there are only two toilets and there are always traffic jams. It is recommended to change the gender toilets to unisex to improve circulation efficiency and be politically correct!

Garbage tastes awful.

I called at 8 o'clock in the evening and asked about the last call. It was said to be 10:30. I sat down here at 9:30. I finished the meal at 9:40. Before 10 o'clock, they asked us if we wanted to add anything and said it was already the last call (it was nothing). At 10 o'clock, I started to bring the bill and said that I had to pay first. I gave the card. I got the bill back and I was eating. I didn't see it at all. I came over to urge me to sign quickly.

Okay, we signed, and half an hour later he came over again and urged us to eat quickly. He wanted to clean the room (a male waiter with short hair) was completely speechless.

I asked once before and it was last call at 10:30. After traveling for half an hour and arriving here at 10:00, they said they couldn't eat. Don't come to eat after 8 o'clock, otherwise they won't be able to finish the meal and they will be kicked out. People are in a hurry to get off work.

Boss, please rectify it quickly. The rude waiter who should be replaced has also been replaced.

This is a very good hot pot for sure a new favorite! But snow is very rude and has a very bad attitude. But the other workers are so amazing.

Feels like waking into some historic Chinese eatery. All the wooden shelves with Chinese herbal decor feels really warm. Soup base really good and their mala is really numbing. Great snack and sauce bar set up. Ingredients are all super good. Low key better than HDL. One of my fav hot pots for the future. Their restrooms are stocked with oral care so you can make out with your girl after hot pot lol
