Company had a catered lunch and this review is only on the food. OMG! So much flavor!! The braised oxtail just melts in my mouth!! The plantains are soft and nicely coated with a layer of sweet flavor. The red bean rice is special and goes well with the sauce. So glad that I finally have the opportunity to really appreciate what Caribbean food is about.

I was working in the area and wanted to have Jamaican for dinner. I usually go to Menlo park but I was not going to make so I placed a to-go order. I got me chicken and pork bowl, j*** chicken bowl, j*** chicken cobb salad, and j*** tofu for mom. A friendly staff is always nice. I had to wait a little longer because I was missing 1 order. The food is ok. The serving is small compared to Menlo park maybe it's because it's a bowl, not a plate serving? But the taste is ok not enough j*** sauce which I think is the key. If you are in the area give it a shot just make sure you get extra j*** sauce.

The j*** chicken is delicious as are the ox-tails. The ginger beer is really good too (and very potent). The fried plantains and beans are also delicious. I should come here more often!

Wish I had known and come to this restaurant sooner!I came here with couple of grad school friends for a reunion so sharing food was going to be on the agenda. The cozy restaurant feels very inviting and the food here is really delicious! Everything was well presented, nicely prepared, and flavorful. It can get crowded at times but it's definitely a spot worthy of visiting. The j*** chicken combo was so good, I cleaned out the plate. I normally don't do that. I wish they would sell those Ginger beer in batches. I would buy them all. So good! I truly believe in helping our local business thrive by giving my honest opinion on the experience. My opinions are based on an average guideline according to taste, smell, presentation, and quality.

Wife and I split a BBQ Chicken and Rib Combo and 3 additional sides: coleslaw, collard greens and plantains. My son had the J*** Chicken sandwich. He enjoyed it very much. We really enjoyed the ribs, super flavorful and done to perfection and also enjoyed the chicken. Wife and I would say the coleslaw lacked flavor but my son thought it tasted fine so I know it's subjective. The greens were very flavorful and the plantains were also a star of show. Certainly would return when wam in the neighborhood.

The interior was fun with reggae music and art on the wall and tables. They have a great selection of Jamaican soda and beer. I had the non-alcoholic malt soda and it was tasty and unique.I had the rice and beans, plantains and j*** chicken combo. The plantains were good. The rice and beans was good but I wanted a little more beans. Maybe the j*** chicken would’ve been better if I hadn’t let it get cold but as it was it tasted a little bland and dry. I got the white chicken and so the interior portions didn’t have sauce on them and just tasted bland. For this reason I can only give four stars, but maybe if I come back and try the regular chicken or pork then I would change my rating to five stars. I also liked how they have the option to get a salad with meat, which seemed healthier.

Such a great local chain. The j*** chicken is delicious. We love to get that with a side of mac and cheese. The flavors are unique and different from anything else. I did like the side salad with passion fruit dressing. They stopped including that with the meals, so that's too bad. Good for eating in or to-go.

Some damn good Jamaican food. NOTHING was a disappointment. I highly recommend. I had a two day event in San Jose and all I wanted was oxtail & plantains. This place was a lovely surprise. I even stopped by in person to buy my dinner & lunch for the next day. Absolutely delicious

Their food is delicious and their portions are pretty big. I come here often to enjoy their delicious food. I came here with my coworkers and we each got different types of meat to try a bit of each. My favorite is the j*** chicken just because the spice was just right and it was tasty. Also, you must try their plantains because they are amazing! I definitely recommend you try all the different types of meat they have so you know which one you like best. I like that they have order ahead so you can just swing in and pick up your food if you don't have time to order and enjoy your food there.

I really enjoyed this place. Fast service & delicious food!!! The shrimp was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of chew, the vegetables were crunchy and fresh, and the coconut curry was the perfectly seasoned so you had the heat, the spice and the cool with every bite! We will be back for more dishes!

I was introduced to this place by a date. Date was terrible but the food made up for it. I tried the j*** chicken and it was so heavenly. It was juicy and flavorful. Meat was tender. I ordered the appetizer with the j*** chicken and rolls.

Came here Saturday at 5pm, and the place was packed. Even on a Saturday all on street parking taken. Had to park across the street in the San Pedro-Market Street parking garage. As with a lot of downtown areas in major cities, sketchy area with pan handlers on the corners and homeless sleeping in the closed doorways. 5 minute wait standing in line to order, just like at McDonalds . We ordered the $13.45 salmon fillet and the $14.95 beef oxtail. Previous visits had always ordered the $10.95 j*** chicken, a hit. 15 minute wait for our order to come. Staff masked, customers unmasked, standing in the line for orders right between the tables. Tables covered with plastic, and hard chairs. No white table cloth, white napkins, nor metal utensils here. Indoor dining with take out containers. No outside dining. Order comes in a disposable circular plastic container, with plantains and dirty rice. The salmon is pretty ordinary. Wife loves salmon and finishes it off in no time, and would order it again. The fillet is maybe 6 ounces at most, so you are paying $36 a pound for the salmon. The meat of the beef oxtail is deliciously tender, but not fall off the bone meat. It takes me a good 8 minutes to cut the meat and fat off the bone, hoping the plastic knife will hold out. The beef oxtail dish is 40% bone, 25 % fat and 35% meat. Spent the rest of the evening spitting out the fat, with every bite of the beef. No way this is worth $14.95. And my hands a mess. The take out napkin the size of two sheets of toilet paper won't do the job, and only one napkin packed with utensils in each order. No napkin holders on the tables, due to outdated covid guidelines. Didn't see hand sanitizer to clean off the juice stained hands when eating the oxtail. Walked across the street to our car in the San Pedro-Market street garage, free parking for the first 90 minutes parking, and $1 for each 15 minutes thereafter. Come here on an event night at the SAP Arena, and pay a $10 to $25 flat fee, $10 for Disney on Ice, $25 for Lady Gaga. Drove home with the beef oxtail sauce smell all over the car steering wheel!
