Bistro Tupaz was a nice surprise. It is a restaurant in a small shopping mall of Santa Teresa serving French and European dishes. I had a bavette steak you don't easily find in restaurants and it was delicious. Even if it was slightly overcooked, the meat was tender and tasty. Cassoulet was great. We had fresh beignets for dessert, a true treat with warm chocolate sauce. Friendly service, as it was my husband's birthday we also left with an extra raspberry pie at no charge. Highly recommended for good food without breaking your budget.

Awesome food! The beef stroganoff was one of the best I've had. Our waiter/owner was funny and a typical Italian nonna. I would definitely go back again

My friend and I went in around 8pm looking for something sweet. And Bistro Tupaz was amazing! The bread pudding looked a little plain behind the glass case, but they plated it beautifully with berries, chocolate sauce and powdered sugar. It tastes just as good as it looks. The texture was soft and creamy, with just right the amount of sweetness to satisfy our cravings. We were very impressed by the effort and the service. We will definitely be back for a full dinner next time. Thank you!

I met a friend here for dinner. I had high hopes for this place based on their menus and reviews I've seen. It ended up being a mixed experience.First and foremost, our waiter was very attentive and friendly. The pasta dishes we tried were also on point. Cook on the pasta was perfect; sauce level was balanced, and shrimps were also cooked perfectly. Brussel sprouts nice and crisp without being burnt. The batter on the calamari was nice and crunchy but a little on the salty side. The dipping sauce was delicious. The actually calamari pieces themselves were sadly a little undercooked and still translucent and soggy. The main reason the food scored lower for me was the ribeye. The menu clearly said that the steaks were grilled. The ribeye I received, while seasoned well, was not what I expected for a grilled steak. The temp was correct but it was very tender with no external sear.It was closer to a prime rib than a seared steak. Some of the delicious delicious ribeye fat did not render and was tough and rubbery still.I will definitely be back again to try other dishes on their menu as they sounded interesting.

Last week my wife and I had a really nice dinner here. Nice menu, great food, superb service, reasonable prices, easy parking. Non-chain “Fine” dining options are scarce in S. San Jose, so this was a good discovery for us; we’ll likely visit again.

Tasty and fun vegetarian options. :) I enjoyed the plant based "lamb" kebab! The chocolate chip cookie had lots of chocolate in it - yum! ? Thanks!Vegetarian options: A few vegetarian options, and nice veggie sides.

Nice little local spot! Good prices and not crazy huge meals. The service is friendly. They are short staffed so have patience. :)

I came in with a group of my family (4 in total) and we were surprised by the atmosphere and menu. We ordered the fish & chips (light, not bathed in batter, flakey), the hamburger (freshly ground beef & homemade everything except the ketchup), the shrimp and chips (juicy shrimp and well seasoned fries) & the Chicken Parmesan (looking delicious and plenty of chicken). The prices for all of this were reasonable and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable about what they served. Definitely coming back here soon.

A real gem. Outstanding food, very affordable, great service. Beef stroganoff was delicious. Fish and chips really good. Very lightly battered. Coconut shrimp, calamari, sweet potato fries, everything was superb. Highly recommend

I've been here a couple of times, but it has been a while since our last visit. The staff is always friendly, and the food is always excellent. Great local eatery.

We've been in the neighborhood for 8 years and never even heard of this place, but it was so worth seeking out! We came in on a Friday evening and were immediately seated outside. Our server was fun and engaging and the atmosphere was comfortable, but the food is the star of the show here. We tried the burger, french onion soup, beef stroganoff and pomme frites and all of them were as good as anything I have had at similar restaurants that cost a lot more, notably Black Sheep. If you like that kind of cuisine, do yourself a favor and give it a try.

What a great find! Fresh homemade food with a European twist! My son had never had homemade pasta and he loved it and is a very picky eater. Great burgers. Excellent onion soup. Will be our go to place to eat!

Great service, great food. Fantastic burgers and fries. Delicious beef stroganoff. They start you off with a sweet bread and jam appetizer!! It's become a regular stop for me.
