Black Sheep Brasserie offers a variety of dishes, with the duck liver mousse and steak tartar being particularly enjoyable. The cast iron seared duck breast and pork chop are described as tender and juicy, although the duck might benefit from additional side dishes as it may not be very filling. The Brussels sprouts are a highlight, being exceptionally flavorful and well-cooked. The lamb chops were also enjoyable, but could be cooked a bit more to reach the medium doneness.
The endive and pork chop were both praised for their flavors, although the pork chop was undercooked and had to be sent back. The spaetzle was criticized for being too al dente. The Manresa bread had a burnt bottom, but the butter was smooth and well-received. The beignet was a disappointment, with the sauce being described as bitter and not tasting like chocolate.
The service was described as slow, with a long wait for seating despite having reservations. The environment was comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful, making recommendations upon request. Overall, the restaurant offers some standout dishes, but has some areas for improvement in terms of cooking and service.
