Haven't had such fluffy buns filled with succulent and flavorful cuts of meat in a while. A friend and I tried their Braised Pork belly Buns, Shoyu Pork Buns, Shaking Beef Buns, crispy tofu buns, Angry bird bowl (off-menu), and mango lassi. Most everything was great, especially the braised pork belly and shoyu pork buns. The tender soy marinated cuts of pork really hit the spot, and I loved the ají verde sauce that came w the shoyu pork bun. The shaking beef reminded me of the sweet and savory korean bbq meats, and the crispy tofu bun had a hickory bbq flavor. I really enjoyed the angry bird bow! It's an off menu item with aromatic fried rice and spicy sautéed chicken. So good! Mango Lassi was a nice smoothie to wash it all downOur host was very kind and informative. The business is run by young chefs and they seem very honest and open to advice! Bun Me Up is located in the Tiki Pete Bar, good music and great place to chill at night.

Service was ok but we had to wait 30 minutes for the food, then another ten minutes to get all of our food because they were filling the “online orders”

Food and experience was amazing. Had this at the San Jose Foodieland at the Santa Clara Fairgrounds. The line grew every time we passed by. Luckily we got there early and had the Braised pork belly and Pork bun. Was very impressed with the flavor and care in every bite. Will visit in the future as luckily we live in Santa Clara. Please expand your hours!!!

We needed a quick snack prior to returning home. The internet drew us to Bun me up, an Asian fusion restaurant. They share a kitchen with another restaurant and are currently only doing take out. They have a twist with Asian meats in a bao bun with sauce and pickled veggies. These are sandwiches are not large but huge with great flavors. The owner is doing it all and was pleasant as he explained the concept. We ordered (2 per order) different bao buns. Our first order was the Daddy's beef ribeye buns (shaken beef) with pickled veggies. HOMERUN! The flavors complimented the sauteed beef and crispy pieces of veggies. The second order was Shoya (Korean) pork with pickled veggies. Another HOMERUN! The meat flavors were bold and m eff lt in your mouth. The tastes were fabulous. I should ordered more but had as plane to catch. We ate them in the car and throughly enjoyed each and every bite. This was unique, delicious and another twist on someone thinking outside the box. Treat yourself and stop by here to wake up your mouth, you won't be disappointed.

Stumbled upon this new spot inside Tiki Pete and was not disappointed! The guy was so nice and let me do a little mix and match for my lunch - I had the shoyu pork, pork belly, and shaking beef bao. Shaking beef and shoyu pork were my favorite but they were all good. The bao was super fresh and soft and meat was cooked perfectly and flavorful. Three bao is a good amount for a big appetite, two is okay for a lighter meal. Definitely will be going back!

This bao is SO GOOD! We indulged and had one of each of the four flavor options, and it was glorious.

Wish I could give this more stars, especially since the negative reviews seem to be more indicative of growing pains than persistent issues with the restaurant. I haven't had an issue with removing ingredients I don't like (cilantro, particularly) or with any other aspect of ordering. The food is almost inconceivably good, with their vegan offering of fried tofu with caramelized onions and a moderately sweet, tangy, and slightly spicy sauce on their toasted, slightly sweet buns blowing my expectations out of the water from the very first bite.I was similarly impressed with the other flavors of buns I tried, the Shoyu Pork and the Shaking Beef, and I find it hard to pick one as my favorite. Good thing they have an option to mix and match a half-dozen of them, so I don't have to choose! It's a small place, and they don't have a huge menu, but it's one of the most surprisingly good places I've found while searching for something to get delivered, and I want to see them succeed.

Sorry guys, they were tasty but I'm still hungry after spending $12. They are like the size of mini tacos you can find at the taco trucks. Inflation is real, but damn. I can eat another set of these, but then my lunch will be $24. They are a ghost kitchen located at Tiki Pete. Don't try to look for a store banner when you walk by.

They were really sweet over the phone since I messed up my order online. I would give this a sold 3.5/5 but since Yelp doesn't believe in halves. I would like to round this up to a 4. I got the shaking beef and the shoyu pork. It was a little too sweet because I was expecting more of the spicy sauce. I would come again during my lunch hour :).

5/5 (Yes another 5/5! I eat good, dang, okay? ofc +service was great here) SIMPLE REVIEW:1. Taste: I like starting with the least favorite (still pretty dang good): gotta be the "Braised pork belly bun with hoisin sauce"; the hoisin sauce overpowered the main ingredient, pork belly, i like it when the quality of the protein is the star of the dish. Now in ranking order to the best bun: 3rd = "Shaking Beef Ribeye Bun with Sweet Spicy Sauce (coulda use more acidity)"; 2nd and 1st are really close to each other but at 2nd is = "Shoyu Pork Buns with Aji Verde Sauce" and in 1st is the "Crispy Vegan Tofu Bun with BBQ Glaze" i never had anything like it before it felt and tasted like healthy soul food?2. Service: The owner served up the buns himself, great guy, friendly and attentive in service and conversation; a major plus is that the buns came out fresh in less than 10 minutes and it was still steaming. 3. So delicious. Picked up my order Togo on a Saturday afternoon. I actually got to talk to the owners that night and they're so wholesome and open and friendly. I ordered a total of 9 buns 3 steak, 2 tofu, 4 of the pork. The buns were on the smaller side but the taste was delicious. While waiting for my order I waited outside since it's only like a ghost kitchen vibe. They have a few chairs and tables to sit on and wait till your order is ready. Def would try their other items on the menu

They dont allow addition of cilantro to tofu buns. It doesn't go with tofu according to them.UPDATEThat was the exact answer given to me ^^ .It wasn't mentioned that customizations are not allowed. I went to Fremont art and wine festival and it was not crowded at the bun me up at the time I picked up. Hardly 1 or 2 people in queue.
