Gem. Very unassuming, , great service, spot on. Excellent Garoto (double espresso with steamed milk), warm pasteis de nata, awesome Linguica sandwich with shaved onion and sliced tomato. Awesome Portuguese roll, warm, fresh crunchy. Very authentic. I grew up in SJ but not on East Side. Worth the trip.
You won't find better value anywhere. The espresso is quite good and the two pastries were nice. All together, cost less than just coffee at some places. Absolute gem of a hole-in-the-wall (meant in the best possible way - clean, but small and random location). Cash or Venmo only.
I came here with 6 others to get breakfast. The owner was friendly and very quick with taking and making our orders. He was working solo but did everything pretty fast. I recommend the linguica sandwich and add cheese on top.
