Great hot Sandwiches! I know people like to compare with it's counter parts in other locations but relatively in the bay it's one of the best. The servers were very kind and that made my experience so much better.
Love the fact that they take EBT. Sandwiches are great.
I got the sandwich, salad, and soup combo. Everything tasted good, but unfortunately was too high in sodium. If you're looking for healthy food, you won't like it. If you dont care about sodium and fat, you might like it.
Earl of Sandwich is a place you must know. Not perfect, but good enough to recommend. When the bread is fresh, the sub is being made with love, and when you know what you know, the bottom line is a perfect bite. This is what I get every time at Earl of Sandwich.
This is my first time trying Earl of Sandwich downtown San Jose and it will be my last, got there around 5:35 on 10 May 22, and the person working was extremely rude, the first thing out of his mouth was we don’t have any soup (not that we asked for any), then proceeded to order a sandwich and said we don’t have that, the my friend requested the meatball sub and he was I just put it away but I guess it’s still hot I will have get it out, then i proceeded to order the turkey club, his response we don’t have any bacon I guess I can put extra turkey. This is how you treat your customers and if so I will not be coming back to that location.
I can’t believe how skimp and discussed I am in this place my 3 yr kids will make this 10x better stick with subway togos or mikes any were but this dump tomato soup was Saran wrapped because it didn’t close a little all the way was all over the place this place is burnt down lol
Came for lunch on a Weds, decent space in downtown. Clean establishment, amicable staff. The Chipotle chicken avocado sandwich was okay, nothing special about it for the price.
First time here the Italian sandwich was great so was the soup.Service waz good too.
I normally like their sandwiches, but today what they delivered was horrible. They just threw the stuff between breads, didn’t even bother to secure it properly (which normally they do at other locations). When I opened it, all veggies were falling apart, and their was not enough chipotle sauce in chipotle chicken sandwich. I seriously had to eat bread and veggies separately. Never going to order from this location, and please learn to serve the food with little decency. I ordered their one veggie and one chipotle chicken sandwich.
Dad, sis and myself stopped off here while on a drive to Monterey. I'm one of those people who remembers great food, and when I have the opportunity to eat somewhere again, I jump at the chance. Let me tell you about good ol’ Earl. Earl of Sandwich has some of thee best sandwiches I’ve ever eaten (and I loves a sandwich). I've only been to the Las Vegas location, so knowing this one was on the way to our final destination, I could not not stop. Sandwiches ordered: Dad: Roast beef Sis: Earl's Club (subbed the swiss for mozzarella) Me: Earl's Club (subbed the swiss for cheddar) I was driving, so I had to hold off on eating mine. My sister was sitting in the back seat and all I heard was, "Damn! Okay Earl!" over and over again! When I say she really enjoyed her sandwich, she ENJOYED it! Dad is more of food is food kind of guy, but he liked his as well. Despite being room temp by the time I got to eat it, my sandwich was still really good. I do, however, recommend eating it right away. I really and truly wished there was a location closer to me because I would get a sandwich once a week!

They didn’t put enough chipotle sauce on the sandwiches they tasted bland. They could be better at paying attention to detail.
Was disappointed in the Thai chicken wrap. There was very little chicken in this wrap but it was soaked in the sweet chili sauce. Had to throw it away after a few bites. I tried to remove some sauce but it was just to much. They also didn't include the peanut sauce.
Exelent place and good food
Good food and wonderful workers and great experience
I walked by this location from the VTA #22 Bus Stop, en route to San Jose Marriott for my weekend stay in the area (Sat. May 29th, 2021) I walked in with my luggage, and spacing between tables was a big help. I ordered their “1762” Roast Beef, Cheddar & Horseradish Sauce that was so delicious!!! I’m glad I accidentally came across this restaurant. FIVE CLAWS UP!!!!! Thanks for reading my review of Earl of Sandwich in downtown San Jose. Happy Memorial Day 2021!! Joe G. Bear
