I highly recommend this place the best food ever

Boss Ross

I've been eating at this place for YEARS though I never bothered to write a review since they have been thriving with customers every day so a little boost from me wasn't necessary. However, I recently found out that a negative review was posted as a retaliation from private affairs with the owner rather than a factual dining experience. I do not agree with the comments made; as a matter of fact, the wait times for the food is a bit long as they are all cooked after you order.

I want this place to continue thriving as there aren't any other Filipino street food places in the area compared to other cuisines.

PROTECT THIS BUSINESS AT ALL COSTS!!

One of my favorite Filipino restaurants! The food is always delicious, fresh, and full of authentic Filipino flavor. Every bite feels like home. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and the service is great. I really appreciate the quality of the food and the warm atmosphere. If you’re craving Filipino food, I highly recommend this place. I will definitely keep coming back! 🇵🇭❤️

The De Facto Filipino Food Truck in the Bay Area!

Sisig, Isaw Manok, Isaw Baboy, Skrambol, Siomai, Shawarma, Pares, food that makes you feel like nasa turo turo o kanto ka saatin, food trip talaga.

You name it, Ate Ems probably has a scheduled day for it available!

Do note that it's best to follow her IG for her current location, as it IS a foodtruck that changes locations frequently and does not have a static time and place to be open, but it's definitely been worth the chase for me personally.

Unfortunate to read that one review, guy probably just missed the point of a foodtruck, but his loss I guess. Bawas kalaban sa pila! lol

I want to share a completely different perspective because my experience with Ate Em’s has been nothing but positive. I’ve supported them before, and every time I’ve interacted with them, they’ve been kind, hardworking, and genuinely appreciative of their customers. You can tell they put a lot of effort into what they do.

I always come with my friends almost every week in South San Francisco, and sometimes in Hayward whenever we’re nearby. That alone says a lot about how much we enjoy the food and the overall experience. We also love Ate Em’s personality. She always welcomes our group and makes us feel appreciated every time we visit.

People have to understand that food trucks operate very differently from regular restaurants. Their location can change daily depending on permits, events, and demand. That’s why many food trucks rely on Instagram or social media to give real-time updates. It’s pretty standard in the food truck scene.

As for the food, it’s consistently good, flavorful, authentic, and made with care. You can really taste that home-cooked Filipino style that’s hard to find sometimes. It’s the kind of food that keeps us coming back.

I also respect the hustle. Running a small business, especially a mobile one, isn’t easy. There’s a lot going on behind the scenes, and it takes real dedication to keep things running. From what I’ve seen, Ate Em’s is doing their best to serve the community and represent Filipino food in a positive way.

I’d recommend checking their updates before heading out and giving them a chance. Supporting small businesses like this goes a long way.

We went to their pop-up this afternoon in Hayward, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. Their opening was delayed by about an hour and a half due to issues with their truck. We arrived early, around 2:30 PM, but didn’t reach the front of the line until 4:50 PM—over two hours of waiting in very cold weather. By the time it was our turn, most of the food was already sold out, with only a few options left. We were told that the Ilocos empanadas would be available at 4:00 PM, but they sold out in less than an hour. They also offer different kinds of BBQ, but customers are expected to cook it themselves. What made it more frustrating was finding out only at the counter that once you place an order, the wait time for food could be another hour, depending on what you ordered. Overall, we waited close to three hours, left hungry and upset. The food supply clearly wasn’t enough for the number of customers. It would have been much better if they had updated people in line about what was already sold out instead of having everyone wait for so long. What started as excitement turned into disappointment!

The Best Filipino Food in San Jose is back! Came here for dinner on a warm Sunday evening. There was plenty of seating in a covered, shaded area with fans for cooling. We were warmly greeted and put in our order of Siomai, Beef Shawarma, Inasal, and Sago't Gulaman. The price was reasonable compared with everywhere else these days. Everything came out fresh and cooked perfectly. The staff were so attentive and provided us with all the sauce and utensils we needed. Everything tasted so good! We love Ate Ems!
