House of Genji has been one of my favorite restaurants. I took my girlfriend there. It was her first time. She really enjoyed it. It is one of those fancy restaurants but cheaper. I highly recommend it. The food is cooked in front of you, the staff is nice, and there is a very good atmosphere.

Went for dinner on a Friday as a party of 2. We were seated with a very nice family of 5 celebrating birthdays. Food was excellent as always. I having been coming to the restaurant since the early 70s and it is in my top 5 favorite restaurants of all time

Went here for Mother's Day. I'm a regular, so I know what to expect. Food was okay, prawns were a bit salty. We had a party of 7, and two us ordered a side of shrimp along with our meal. Usually a side of something is $5-10. A side of shrimp was $25.30(with only 6-8 pieces of shrimp. I was highly disappointed with the service. Felt rushed overall. Orders got mixed up as well.

Came to dinner on a Monday night. May have been understaffed. Server seemed overwhelmed. Forgot to put in a meal for our table. Then told us they were out of chicken. Then had to wait for our chef to prepare meal at the next table. Ended up canceling after only receiving rice by the time our entire table was finished. Drinks took way to long to get refilled. Not the normal service we are used to getting here. Hopefully we just caught them on a bad night.

Fun place for a group but I wouldn't go for the food. The scallops are pretty tasty but everything else is pretty ordinary. The cocktails are tasty. But overall, food and drink is pretty expensive for what you get. You're mostly paying for the show that the chefs put on. And your mileage can vary greatly with the shows. Ours was pretty lowkey and unexciting while the table next to us got a SHOW!
