The chef put on a really good show. It did scare some of the children so be warned. We thought the birthday dinner was going to be free but it is only free if you buy four meals so be warned about that too but everything tasted delicious and the portions were generous. I also had a hummingbird which was really good. The chicken was a little overcooked. The scallops were spectacular. Lots of fun.

Went with a party of 5, customer service was excellent, and food was outstanding. Next time I'm in San Jose I will be back.

For the price of the food I would expect more quality, no option to remove certain vegetables from the fried rice, there where sticker labels that where cooked with the red and yellow bell peppers, the sauce for the salad had a very strong ginger taste that over powered the salad unfortunately. Opted for spicy mayo and that was also off. Ended up just eating the New York steak and left everything else. The chef was entertaining though. My first and would probably be my last visit here.

recently visited this place expecting an entertaining dining experience, but was let down. While the food tasted good, the showmanship from the cook was lacking. Unlike the other chefs who impressed us with cool tricks like flipping eggs and tossing food into guests' mouths, my chef seemed to just focus on cooking without any flair or excitement. It felt like was missing out on the fun part of the experience. If you're looking for a lively atmosphere with engaging chefs, this might not be the right choice for you. or at least not are chef and the price was not worth the show by far

I loved this place. I came here late and the service was great. I ordered a few dishes to share and it was all delicious. The shishito peppers are randomly spicy, occasionally you'll get a burst of peppery bite. The fish was all perfectly prepared.

House of Genji has always been an amazing restaurant for us! We went for my birthday and they don't charge for your birthday! You just show your ID! It was amazing!

Had us waiting over an hour after being told 20 mins. They kept making us wait because we were a party of 3 and they wanted an even number to fill the table. The food lacked taste overall very bad experience.

Walked in at 5:08pm today a Wednesday. I said i wanted to order to go which we have done in the past. He told me it would be an hour and the place only has one party sitting down. I said ok and then he changed and said it would be 1hr and 15mins that i should order from the restaurant next door. I drove all the way from Milpitas during traffic hours for this?! Maybe he didnt know i was going to order for 3 people but i didnt want to insist when hes turning me away i dont wanna eat from a place with that type of service. Sad because i been going there for years.

We made a reservation at 7pm but still had to wait and didn't get a table until 7:30pm. The chef didn't come to our table until 8:30pm. They used to have 8 diners sitting at one table but now each table has 10 diners and very it's tight. The chef and the waitress were nice and friendly but the food and atmosphere were not the same as before.
