We enjoy our meals at Human impression. It's a bit on the expensive side but the food is delicious. It does have wait time up to 15-30 min but it's worth the wait. Staff is very friendly even for non-native speakers. Highly recommend if you're willing to wait!

I’ve been coming to Hunan Impression for over 8 years and the service is consistently excellent. I’m vegetarian and they have plenty of options. My go-tos are the eggplant, the lotus root, and the cabbage (I order it without pork). The cabbage in particularly outstanding.
I also tried the popular flaming fish in chili oil dish with soft tofu instead of fish (this is not on the menu but I insisted). I could tell the dish would've tasted much better with fish.
They include an 18% service charge and ask that guests don’t tip beyond that, which I really appreciate. The staff and overall service are always warm and attentive, with people regularly checking in

I used to love this restaurant so much, and came here every week a few years ago. However, things have obviously gone down a lot. Today we got charged 18% service fee for takeout. What the hell is that ???

Hunan Impression in Sunnyvale is one of the top Hunan restaurants in the Bay Area. The menu is very similar to Ping’s Bistro in Fremont. We ordered the Pork Ribs with Salted Egg Yolk, Sautéed Beef with Wild Rice Bamboo Shoots, and Stir-fried Cured Beef with Garlic Sprouts (Leeks). Overall, the dishes were well prepared and nicely presented.
If there is room for improvement, one of the spare ribs was very tough to chew, and I wished the portion of cured beef were more generous. There is also a mandatory 18% service fee, which is not something I personally prefer.

Authentic Hunan food. Clean restaurant. Awesome speedy attentive service. I enjoy dining here with my family whenever we are in town. We ordered steamed egg, string beans eggplant stir fried and spicy pepper with pork. FYI the steamed egg does take a long time to be ready.

This Hunan restaurant is absolutely amazing! The flavors are bold, authentic, and perfectly spicy without being overwhelming. Every dish we tried was fresh and full of aroma. The portion sizes are generous, and the ingredients taste high quality.
The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food came out quickly. If you love real Hunan cuisine with deep, rich flavors, this place is a must-try. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Favorite Chinese restaurant in all of Bay Area! Great food, great service and cool place. Ordering food thru phone is easy, but you can wave them down easily if you need to modify. We always order the spicy fish fillet, sautéed green beans and another meat dish. Try to come with a bigger group so you can try more dishes. Also love that they give kids plastic cups and utensils. Always busy during lunch and dinner rush for a reason, but they move quick.
