Favorite Chinese restaurant in all of Bay Area! Great food, great service and cool place. Ordering food thru phone is easy, but you can wave them down easily if you need to modify. We always order the spicy fish fillet, sautéed green beans and another meat dish. Try to come with a bigger group so you can try more dishes. Also love that they give kids plastic cups and utensils. Always busy during lunch and dinner rush for a reason, but they move quick.

I ordered takeout today and one of the dishes was incorrect. I called the restaurant to let them know because it was a dish I was really looking forward to. I was pretty disappointed at first, but they responded so kindly and even sent the correct dish to me — plus an extra one. Their gesture was very comforting and really turned my mood around, and the dishes are delicious. I’ve been a loyal customer of this restaurant for a while, and I truly appreciate their great service and honesty. You can tell this restaurant is well-managed and genuinely cares about its customers. Highly recommend!

Love this place- it’s actually spicy! I get takeout 98% of the time but so can’t really comment on the service but the food here is great. The serving size is also decent and I’m full after one dish + rice usually. Hunan Impression is definitely my favorite Chinese restaurant in the south bay area.

Hunan Impression offers authentic dishes where each one has its own distinct flavor that keeps you coming back for more. What impresses me the most is their exceptional customer service. The staff are courteous and attentive — they bring a new pair of chopsticks without being asked and promptly replace your plate when you’re ready for dessert.
A special mention to Michael, who always treats us with the same care and attention you’d expect from a high-end store. His professionalism and warm demeanor make every visit a truly pleasant experience.

The sizzling yellow croaker with garlic flavor is tasty.
The crisp Lamb chop is a must-try. Good-quality Lamb ribs!
The sauteed sliced beef with bamboo shoot, Sautéed Chicken Gizzard with Pickled Green Beans and also delicious and above average.
Chinese Greens in Soup-Stock 上汤皮蛋嫩菜苗 is interesting, where the soup is made from salty egg yolk. I like the flavor personally.

Five stars. And we are very picky eaters having kept second home near in China for decades, dined at countless high end restaurants as we traveled all over mainland China, HK, Singapore, etc.
The entire menu is very good but let me pick one item to highlight: their Sichuan style dry fried green beans are incredible and are the only truly authentic Sichuan version I've found anywhere in Bay Area. Their version is perfect, so much so that I would gladly make the 20 min drive to Hunan Impression if that item was only thing on their menu !
