The food is good. However spent too much time waiting
Gaku Yakitori is a very solid spot in the Bay Area. Sister restaurant to Sumiya, and I’ve been coming for years.
Charcoal is the reason to go. Skewers off the binchotan have that smoke a gas grill never gets. Uni don was good too, though it didn’t make the photo. Sake list is nice if beer isn’t the move.
Staff is friendly and accommodating. Room is small, so call ahead. Definite go-to izakaya.
