We absolutely loved Jackie's Place - it's clean, modern, with top service & hospitality. We'll definitely come back again. Everything we ordered was delicious! You must try the fried chicken wings and Mac&Cheese. The pecan cause was amazing sweet and the peach habanero delivered with the spice!
It was lovely to meet JuJu, Jackie's sister, who went around each table making sure the food and service was comfortable. It's very clear that this restaurant cares about the food, the quality, and most of all the customers & community.

I’m from Texas and I been working in Cali for a few months and this by far the best food I’ve tasted. The oxtails tender…the smothered chicken amazing the fish was fried just right. The sides the beef chili beans…the collards greens…the Mac and cheese. When I say the seasoning and everything is on point.

Got oxtails, the fish and sides. Waited till I got off work about 4 hours. I’m from Jamaica originally, been in Houston about 25 years since moving here. Legit took me Back to Houston and Jamaica in one setting? only second or third to my moms and wife’s cooking lol

Food was great. Those corn muffins are out of this world. I could eat a dozen of them.
This place almost killed me! If they had put anymore food in front of me I'd have eaten myself to death. The fried fish was outstanding the brisket moist and delicious, the French fries were in a league of their own momma made that pulled pork vanish. My son wasn't sharing any of his sides, I only got a small bit bit of brisket he couldn't stuff in. The fish sandwich could have used some dressing and the friendly staff would surely brought whatever i liked, but I couldn't stop eating it long enough to ask. Their was so much fish on that sandwich. A bridge to far was crossed when I tucked into the banana pudding oh that was so good, I got it to go and took a bite in the car, then another and didn't leave the parking lot until it was gone. I staggered into the house and couldn't eat for almost 24hrs after that feed. Can't wait to go back to SanJose and visit Jackies again. Very reasonably priced for such good Soul food/ BBQ and we all know how spendy that can be! Me and Jackie's Place will meet again.
I was a little disappointed in the brisket, it was a tad dry and not a lot of a smoke ring on the meat. The fish has a very nice seasoning. The fries were also seasoned well and hot. The chilli beans had ground beef in them.... Over all it was a nice experience for the first time. The staff was very delightful and professional.

Unfortunately they don't check their take-out orders, we can't fault the delivery person because they aren't packing the bags, but when your order is clear and you receive everything but one that's a problem.
Parking: If you're lucky to get in there thr parking is okay but if not and due to thr location, you're screwed.
