Little to no salmon. All toppings.

Decided to give this joint a try and ordered the loco moco. The brown sauce was curdled and salty. I was trying to explain to the server what was wrong but could not figure understand what I was talking about. Was never offered a replacement. Never going back.

The portions are great for the amount you pay, and the food is tasty. The service has been relatively quick each time I have gone.

Don’t get the spicy salmon or spicy tuna

The food did not taste good. Ordered a BBQ chicken, pineapple fried rice, and spam musubi. The rice had almost no seasoning and it was mushy. It was mediocre at best. The macaroni that came with the BBQ chicken tasted sour. The spam musubi rice was very plain. No flavor. Ordered at 11:30 and was customer #1. They were cooking the food in the back, and I have to admit it seemed really sketch. It took almost 15 minutes for the food to be ready. For mall food, that seems on the slow side, especially if I was the only order they had in queue. I did not try the poke, but I won't be coming back.

If you need food quick this isnt the spot to go. I ordered the pineapple fried rice which was very good I gobbled all of it down. I also got the Luau punch but that wasnt good, I just dumped it out. It took about 20-25 minutes to get the food.

I had their katsu chicken the day before which was decent. The chicken didnt have as much meat, but did like their vegetables that came with it. The next day I got their popcorn chicken which was disappointing, it was burnt. They only had one guy ahead of me and no other costumers so I can't imagine why they couldn't gage the time to for it not to be overcooked. They also have poki bowls that I haven't tried so I'll give that a try and report back...

Recently opened with a few other new restaurants. Looks simple and chill - very Hawaiian style. Very good price with a portion size just good enough to eat and be full (won't have anything to take home).Chicken katsu is super soft and juicy. The sauce is a little bit small though and doesn't look like the one from Hawaii.Poke bowl is average, all taste good, not too much rice.Overall is a really good place to have Hawaiian classics, but don't expect huge plates. And yes, they have full set of Hawaiian Sun for 2 bucks.

Poke bowl was not great, pineapple were frozen solid, and the spicy tuna was an off-putting color. The chicken katsu was mediocre at best, dry and bland, sauce helped some to fix that but not enough sauce at all to drown out the

The food was excellent; it had good portions and looked fresh. The cashier needs some improvements, and she should smile, at least. I will be back for the food.

Went twice - both times going, they unfortunately kept forgetting ingredients in the poke bowl that I ordered! Also, it was just incredibly salty this past time!! Couldn't even finish it because it was drenched in the wasabi shoyu...

Kaia is a nice addition to the ever-evolving Oakridge Mall court! I've worked at the mall almost 20 years ago and it's interesting to see the new eateries. Anyways, Kaia serves Hawaiian BBQ and Poke Bowls - which I believe would be a first for this food court! The other thing that caught me eye was the prices, the Hawaiian plate meals were all ~$10 and poke bowl was ~$12...definitely one of the lower priced options. I didn't try the poke but always go for the chicken katsu whenever I try a new Hawaiian BBQ place. Portion was decent (for the price) and the chicken was crispy and breaded well. Mac salad was nothing special and it came with 2 scoops of rice and some katsu sauce. Some people may object but I like that it came served on a bed of steamed cabbage & broccoli...eat your veggies & fiber...it's good for you! Service was friendly and as I said, at the price point...it's a great value. Food was good enough for me to try again another day!

A brand new restaurant has opened at Oakridge mall, and it's Hawaiian bbq! Super excited to try this place because it's been either L&L or Ono's in the south San Jose Bay Area for me. They also serve poke! Great start of the experience with free samples on the counter of their chicken katsu! Quick ordering system through self serve kiosk or with a staff member. I ordered 4 things for the family: loco moco for myself, 3 spam musubis, chicken katsu plate, and bbq chicken plate. I waited about 10-12 minutes for the order to be complete and taken to go. Spam Musubi: I wouldn't order again since the spam wasn't crispy at all, not enough sauce from other places I've tried, and it completely fell apart after a few bites. It was good to try. Loco Moco: good portions of meat and two cooked eggs. The only issue was that the hamburger meat lacked sauce and it was super dry because the meat was over cooked. I would recommend something other than this. Chicken Katsu: Same as above with lacking Katsu sauce... But, the chicken fry was crispy, light, and delicious. BBQ Chicken Plate: Great piece of chicken on a grill that had a sweet marinade. All the plates above had great salad, rice, and macaroni salad with the entrees. I would order here again and try their fried shrimp.

Ordered the Garlic Shrimp. Good looking plate the food was far from great. The shrimp was way overcooked. It was hard to chew, the onions and brocccali were raw, the mac salad was over dressed. I took it back to the counter and told him tha the food was sub par...He looked at me and said the veggies were steamed. Even streamed they shouldn't be that crunchy... No refund no sorry...$13.29 for the uneatable plate. It's no Giovanni's Shrimp Truck that's for sure. Very disappointing
