Bad service. Maybe I should say no service.
Not even re-fill your tea. I still cannot reason myself to pay for that 18% tips.

Great Sushi Spot!

Had an amazing experience at Kenji Sushi in San Jose! 🍣✨ Everything was delicious, and the portions were generous. The fish was fresh, and you can tell they use high-quality ingredients.

There’s a wide variety of options on the menu – plenty of rolls, sashimi, and hot dishes to choose from. Service was excellent, with friendly and attentive staff. Plus, the atmosphere was really nice, cozy, and welcoming.

Definitely coming back! Highly recommend for all sushi lovers! 🔥🍣

I arrived 40 minutes before they closed to order some food to go. The lady at the entrance ignored me for a few minutes until I asked someone else. Then she started taking my order... and when I was getting ready to pay, she said "sorry, kitchen is closed, goodbye"

I was a bit confused but she repeated "kitchen is closed" and started arguing with a coworker. Maybe the food was good, but I guess I will never know.

Attempted to place a pick up order 40 mins before closing. Person who answered the phone was incredibly rude and hung up the phone on me when I was inquiring about kitchen hours. There’s a lot of good sushi in South Bay - I’d definitely give this place a pass.

This used to be my go to place for Sushi but I am not going there again. We ordered a Sushi and in every single piece there were huge pieces of some sort of paper. On one of the pieces I would have understood that it might have fallen, but on entire roll was surprisingly.
Staff was polite to offer replacement which we declined and returned the existing plate. However, they still billed us for that as well paper-filled-Sushi. We had to discuss with manager to get it removed at the end.

Kenji Sushi in San Jose is my go-to sushi spot! It’s become a real comfort food place for me because the sushi is always super consistent and great tasting. They have a huge variety of rolls, so there’s always something new to try.

Finding seating has always been easy for me, but they also have a bar area if you prefer that vibe. The service is friendly and welcoming, and I’ve definitely been encouraged to keep drinking sake—which I personally love and find hilarious. It makes the whole experience even better!

If you’re a sushi lover looking for great food and a chill atmosphere, I’d definitely recommend checking this place out!

Kenji- uhh yeah, no. im good. there are plenty of over priced sushi restaurants that will give you condiments and utensils with out attitude, lies or 5 trips back into the restaurant. The hostess here was so rude. We stopped by 40 min before closing for a pick up order. Another couple also picked up their food and asked for condiments and utensils. She told them everything is already in the bag. While I was waiting they had to come back in and ask for soy sauce and forks. She made them wait while going to the back finally coming back several minutes later. When my food was ready I also asked for condiments and utensils and the same thing happened "everything is in the bag" she said... I asked again listing each item. She said "yes in the bag " with attitude. So to be sure I confirmed again. "For 2 ppl"? She nodded yes. Went to the car. Thankfully double well triple checked to find only chop sticks. So I sent my son in and she had the nerve to tell him they do not have Togo utensils and that we had to pay extra for condiments as if the $20 price tag per roll isn't enough to cover the condiments. Anyway I send him back in with money. However he returns looking very defeated saying she says they don't have forks and they already closed the register. FYI as I'm writing this it is still during their business hours. Honestly I guess I should be greatful I was able to go back in myself have her tell me I can't buy sauce and but at least leave with a fork to eat my food with.

Kid-friendliness: Took advantage of my son telling him they don't have forks he went back in 3x finally I had to go in myself for a second time to get the utensils I originally asked for 3x when I picked up the food.
