Strongly recommended their Katsu Curry items (rice or ramen). I've had them at least once monthly over five months and each time they remained consistently delicious, generous, and thick. Service is quick and friendly.
One of my favourite spots for ramen! The staff are warm and welcoming, and the food never disappoints. The katsu curry ramen comes with a generous portion of meat, while the clam ramen features a beautifully rich, savoury broth.

Gets very busy on weekends. Ramens are good. Vegetarian ramen with clear broth is okayish
Rmen shop that offers a variety of different broths, and other dishes. I got the shoyu and while the broth and noodles were solid the temperature of the toppings were cold. It's more 3.5 than 3.

Ramen is high-competition these days but Kumako Ramen does not disappoint with their experience. They're a long-standing family-owned restaurant with more than just the classic selection. I personally loved the shio ramen with its fresh toppings and deep broth flavor. Atmosphere inside is intimate and busy, prices are fair, and service is friendly and quick. Hope to be back soon to try other items.

Broth has nice flavor. Bouncy noodles. Cozy atmosphere. Only complaint is ramen gets cold fast. Cold ingredients once added to hot broth = room temp ramen. First bites are indeed satisfying.

We had a great time when we went last Friday, September 26, 2025. We got the Katsu Curry and the Tonkotsu Ramen, and they were top notch. The flavors were great and satisfying, and even though they were dishes we had tried before, Kumako's dishes taste and feel better. Their portions are big, but not overwhelming. The restaurant staff were very nice and hospitable, and they really made our time even better. I think it was so convenient that they were one of the few restaurants open in Japantwon during that time. We ate there at around 1:40 pm and most restaurants were about to close up.
If you're looking for some of the best ramen in SJ this awesome mom and pop is the plane to go!!! Their gyoza is spectacular and their spicy ramen is truly 🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽 this place is a long time favorite!!!

This place is amazing. Truly get a feel of an authentic Japanese Raman Shop with a little bit of American influence. The food is always delicious. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE KATSU CURRY RICE BOWL OR RAMEN!!. All the Drinks are amazing. Service is top notch.
