Very welcoming establishment, food is pretty decent but I wouldn't say great enough to say it's the best place.

Walking distance from a friends house, it’s their go-to ramen place. I’ve been a few times and it’s tasty.

Just went to this place again and had to update my review. Food was ok but the service was awful. Made me feel like I was inconveniencing the waitress. Won't be going back.

I used to love coming to this place because of their chili ramen, but for some reason it lacked flavor this last time I went. It is difficult to find parking and the parking is paid, unless it's Sunday. The place is small and they cannot fit a group bigger than 4 unless is a slow day. The waiter who served us seemed nice at first, but when we asked for a fork and something else, she looked irritated. I love ramen places that have kids ramen in their menu so this is a plus.

Nice hole in the wall place in San Jose Japan town. It’s Tuesday when most of the shops on Jackson Street were closed on Monday- Wednesday. So it’s a good find. The Curry Tonkatsu ramen tastes right! The way it should be. The noodles are not overcooked. The curry soup is probably from their pre-cooked curry, but it’s fine. Good flavor.

My family and I enjoyed the service and food while visiting Japantown, San Jose. The food was excellent and came quickly. My husband and I enjoyed the mini bowls which was more than enough while my son enjoyed the Ramen. I highly recommend visiting Kumako when in Japantown!

We went to Kumako Japan Town after a long bike ride at #VivaCalleSJ. I had Hiyashi- a chilled ramen with wasabi and chuka dressing. Honestly, I was skeptical of the wasabi dressing- but let me tell you! This dish is awesome. I can’t stop talking about it. I think I found a new food addiction. I have a reason to visit Kumako Ramen even on a summer day. I also like their TanTan Ramen and Katsu curry ramen. Their selection of appetizers are also very good. My wife and son has their fried rice and kakiage- a vegetarian patty drizzled with yummy sauce.
The staff- they are the friendliest staff you’ll ever encounter. Even the chef will take time to go to every table to make sure the costumers are satisfied. (Ofcourse when they are not busy- I go around 2:30pm after rush hours). Jeremy, our server is very attentive and super friendly. I recommend this place 100%.
Kid-friendliness: They have kid friendly menu. My son is a picky eater but he can eat at Kumako Ramen.
