I recently stopped by SJSU to relive my collegiate memories and stumbled across La Lune. Hungry and wanting some caffeine, I went in to give this place a shot.Upon entering, I was pleasantly surprised with the warm greeting by every employee. While ordering, we all had a nice conversation and discovered the staff are fellow Spartans. Definitely feels like I'm amongst friends and just not a restaurant. As for the food? I had a double dose of strawberries: a strawberry crepe and strawberry matcha. Both pastry and drink have just the right amount of sweetness and are not overly sweet. No lingering aftertastes nor sugar overdose feeling, which is a very good thing! Before leaving, I chatted with the staff. The current owners recently acquired this establishment and are making adjustments and evolving their menu. I look forward to trying out more of La Lune's offerings and for more good times & conversation!

As an SJSU alum, I was on campus last week during my visit to San Jose. I came across this jewel of a cafe just right outside the campus. I ordered the croque monsieur and it was spot on. It was tasty and was very fulfilling. For a quaint cafe they have a very diverse menu. My only complaint was that my coffee was a bit acidic and made it taste bitter. Otherwise, I highly recommend this place for a quick lunch if you're near or on campus.

We go here on the weekends. Parking can be tough but is worth it. I really like their sandwiches. My husband likes the turkey bistro on baguette. It’s healthy and uses good quality ingredients. My favorite is the chicken pecan sandwich in croissant. Very creamy and not too sweet. Has apples which give it a nice crunch. The place has new ownership but has made a lot of improvements to the place such as self order kiosk. This allows the workers to focus on making sandwiches and drinks quicker. But from what I can tell the improved efficiency doesn’t mean lower quality. The staff are super sweet and friendly. They always have a smile and seem to really enjoy working their.

They changed owners and now the breakfast Benedict is disgusting. The ham tastes cheap and full of grease and the hollandaise sauce is disgusting. Tastes like the sauce used in cheap diners like Denny’sThe seating space is much more reduced than before and it feels cramped. The breakfast Benedict used to be a good sandwich there but they’ve ruined it awfully .Parking: Free street parking on Sundays

Food is great! Been ordering here for a long time now! Sad they don't pick up the phone anymore, I prefer ordering on the phone. Otherwise food is 5/5. Benedict croissant without the ham ?

i gotta be honest, i feel super ripped off. Their sandwiches are normally $10 for a normal sized baguette sandwich. I was charged $1.50 extra for gluten free bread, only to be given a sandwich smaller than my palm! If anything, I should have paid half the price for it given how much they saved on filling. What a crummy way to treat your customers!Dietary restrictions: They charge extra for TINY palm-sized gluten free bread. I compared it to a friend's sandwich which was $2 less, and it was less than half the size. A blatant ripoff.

Great place to study! But since it’s a small store, seatings and tables are limited inside.Ordered myself the matcha lavender. One of the best matcha I had near campus. Only thing is that the cup was leaking. Quick fix tho <3

This is a tiny place downtown but it’s an opportunity to enjoy a real Parisian cafe experience and the food is an experience too because a real chef crafts it. Even the coffee is an experience. I’m a former Peets barista and I own an espresso machine, but I just ordered a cappuccino with my crepe because even I’m not that good and I had months of training to make great espresso drinks then in the traditional Dutch method Peets used to use decades ago.Dietary restrictions: The crepes are real crepes, not thin pancakes, so they are lower in carbs and higher in protein and I ordered 2 extra protein add-ons. This is a great option for brunch for me that doesn’t push my blood sugar sky high. Each item I ordered was ala carte and I don’t get extra carbs I don’t want and It’s a great price for the quality.

Be patient here. The food is worth it and delicious, but they may have been understaffed when I went (who isn't these days?) It took a bit of time for them to get our order to us, but the food is amazing and their honey ginger tea was incredibly soothing for my sore throat!I give the girl working here so much credit for seemingly doing it all. This is a lot of work to do, and while it might seem slow for you if it's just one person there, I thought it was worth the wait.

It was my first time trying this place out and I was pleasantly surprised, the atmosphere was great and the service was amazing. I ordered their earl gray cake and it was delicious, it wasn't too sweet which was to my liking. I will definitely be coming back.

Small sit-in or sit-out café. It's like an American café with San Jose flair. Student run front of house. Don't come expecting a Parisian brunch spot. The branding concept is *different* calling it La Lune Sucreé but then looking at the menu options, all that to say: you'll still enjoy it very much. You should know the tea is better than the coffee. Sandwich options are far less French.Fast and great service today. Refreshing pit stop. Reasonable prices to feed oneself on the go.Veggie options!! I got the vegan avocado pesto sandwich but I believe the croissant is made with dairy butter. So 3.5/4 stars.. French fried onions were a delightful surprise imo but definitely not French ? haha.Hope to see more vegan options as the place grows and tries out even more creative things ❤️ hint hint Hot For Food's recipe for a Monte Cristo... Would you consider it Owner? ????

Even though is advertised as European, the coffee is not good, and cannot prepare the coffee on the menu

Chai latte is very weak and watery. Medium size is closer to a standard small. Would not recommend.

Absolutely loved the atmosphere. Little pricey for the portion sizes, but the cashier who helped me(her name was kayleen I think) was very friendly and made comfortable conversation with me. Helped me find a quick snack while i was visiting the surrounding area.

Stopped by for a quick breakfast sandwich and got it with the croissant. Overall pretty good but they do take quite some time to send out the food and their prices are steep.
