Marco Polo in San Jose is a go-to spot for anyone craving bold, tropical gelato flavors. Located in Vietnam Town, the shop offers a wide range of Asian-inspired options like durian, jackfruit, pandan, and Thai tea—all made with real ingredients and a creamy texture that’s hard to beat. The staff are friendly and patient, offering samples so you can explore before choosing.
The vibe is casual and welcoming, with indoor seating and a few outdoor tables. It’s perfect for a post-lunch treat or a late-night dessert run. The prices are fair for the quality, and the variety makes it easy to find something new each visit.
First time here so I ended up sampling all the flavors on their sign except soursop. They were all tasty and I ended up getting lychee, guava, and mango. From the sample, mango was fine with the combo but it definitely fell short of the lychee and guava flavor. Durian would have been a great choice if I was going for one flavor.
If I was in the area, I wouldn't mind swing by again!
Stunning flavors. The banana is unassuming but incredible, the durian was potent without being overwhelming, and the taro was prominent.
Hidden gem of San Jose Viettown with a wide variety of exotic ice cream flavors for a reasonable price and generous portion. It’s a place I proudly bring guests from out of town to visit.
Ice cream: I usually get the small scoop which comes with 1-2 flavors for $6.55. My go to is the pandan leaf flavor with a mix of either lychee, green tea, or Thai tea. Even for picky eaters, they will have the right flavor for you.
Service: Even with only one server and a decently long line, the service was patient, quick, and efficient. They allow customers multiple samples.
Amazing gelato and great exotic flavors
I love coming here when I'm craving ice cream! The texture of the ice cream is always velvety and the flavors are incredible. My favorite are durian and red bean (although they rarely have red bean whenever I come :(). I'd also highly recommend their jackfruit and pandan.

I’ve been to the location in SF many times. Would come with a few pints.
Now that I live in SJ, so glad that there is a location here. I’ve been here a few times and will always order the jackfruit (langka). I’ve also had the mango which is also very good but jackfruit is hands down my favorite. Wanted to try the new honeydew melon flavor but apparently it’s been out of stock for a few weeks. I guess that gives me another reason to come back haha
Friendly staff… lets you try samples of the other flavors.

Great little ice cream place with all sorts of asian flavors like durian, mangosteen, soursop etc. I usually go to their San Francisco shop but glad to see them expand.

The ice cream are good but many of the flavors were out, so the options are limited. The best flavors are durian and double chocolate. They have a new flavor, pandan. There is an outdoor seating.

This gelato brand is older than me ~
Shop in San Francisco was a well-known spot for many years.
The old SF location has closed and will be relocating to Noriega St., but it might take another month or two to open.
Meanwhile, the branch in the South Bay has been open for several years.
You must try their lychee flavor! It tastes like real lychee, not the artificial stuff, with lychee meat inside. One bite takes you back to the riverbanks of Lingnan!
The jackfruit flavor is amazing, similar to durian in its unique taste.
Durian is a signature flavor; many people come specifically for it.
• Guava is very special
W Taro has a wonderfully fragrant taro flavor.
Mangosteen is refreshing and unique taste if you're trying it for the first time.
Sesame and red bean are also fantastic, super rich.
You can taste the sesame seeds and the texture of red bean paste.
They also have pandan, coconut, Thai tea, mango, and soursop flavors from Southeast Asia. All of them are delicious with no disappointments. You can ask the staff for samples before you buy.
It's located in the plaza of Vietnam Town. Perfect to
Always love this ice cream. Tastes very good, and a variety of flavors are offered. Especially recommend if you like Asian Ice Cream Flavors. The ice cream is a little on the pricier side but I think it’s worth it for the quality you are getting.
