If there is a place that deserves a 5-star on everything it’s this place. What a great service, with great food, fair prices and the right atmosphere. Today was the first day of many.

The steamer baskets are super! Also great nabe options, especially on stormy days. Service is friendly and fast. Dishes served in correct order. The agedashi is tasty. The staff checks often if anything else is wanted. The plain rice ? is good!

I've lived in the Bay Area my whole life and I'm so upset I've never heard of this place before! The quality of the food is outstanding - no matter what you get, you can tell they have high standards for what they are serving. My friend ordered a bento box and I got the katsu don, and we were both extremely satisfied with our choices! The katsu don was flavorful and crispy - I would argue that this is in the top three for me. I recommend getting multiple dishes and sharing them family style, so you're able to try a little bit of everything. The service and ambiance here is AMAZING. The owner is so sweet and the waitresses were fantastic too!! Shout-out to our waitress in training, we didn't get your name, but we share your love for Miffy. I will definitely be coming back here! I recommend coming before dinner rush, maybe around 5pm or 5:30pm if you'd like to avoid long wait times.

First time trying it yesterday and I love this place. They give like big bowls of udon. There plain udon is really cheap as well. They had solid teriyaki chicken with a salad and unlimited rice. The miso soup here is great too which is given as starter.Service here is great and quick. With friendly servers and and a lively atmosphere. I forgot to take pictures

So good! We came in the early evening to have something small to eat before going out and v satisfied. I'm always a sucker for sashimi and happily ate everything and was fully satisfied :)

The food at this place is excellent, offering generous portions for a fair price. The taste is delightful, and the service is commendable. However, the seating area may be a bit tight for large groups, and it seems like they could use more staff. Nonetheless, the existing staff is courteous and polite. While the ambiance may not be the most appealing, the food quality and pricing make it a worthwhile choice.

This was my first visit to Minato, but others in my group had been there many times, and I can see why. Minato is a small, family-owned/operated business with an extremely hospitable staff. During our dinner, we felt very well attended to, as the staff would make sure to stop by on occasion to make sure we had everything we needed. I think the potstickers were some of the best I’ve ever had anywhere. The dinner “boxes” have a big variety of food that you can customize. The tempura entree was like a piece of art, not to mention delicious (see photo). And when I needed to take some of it to go, they automatically offered a small container for the sauce. I might be mentioning small details, but I appreciate the staff and their efforts, because it’s hard to find places and people that are so attentive to those details these days. Any time I’m in San Jose with an opportunity to dine, I am DEFINITELY going to recommend and visit Minato!

This restaurant makes you feel like you're eating in Japan. The chicken teriyaki (spicy sauce) was amazing! The tempura was one of the best I have ever had. They have nicely priced lunch specials. The service is fast and friendly.

The food here is great, big plate portions and very fair for the price. Taste is good and service is good too. I feel that there is not sufficient room for big groups and also there is enough people to serve, but they are kind and polite. The place is not the pretties but food is great and also is price.

Got the chicken Katsu curry, curry didn’t really have any flavor or taste like anything and the chicken katsu was okay. Our waitress was very kind and nice but there was this guy not sure if he’s the manager or something but he asked me if I wanted a box for my food towards the end and I politely declined. I don’t know if it made him feel some type of way that I didn’t want the rest of my food to go but then he made a snarky comment saying “well are you done playing in it then” as my hands were under the table the whole time. very rude and unprofessional thing to say.
