I would say this place is a cool hole in the wall to get your banh mi fix!! I got the vegetarian variant and for the price and service I highly recommend this place! The interior is cozy and cool.

This place is incredible. Just go here and order the BBQ Chicken Lemongrass Banh Mi. It's incredible. If that was my last meal I would have died a happy man. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. I couldn't be happier. Don't skip on the aioli. On each bite I would pour either aioli or Sriracha on it and it just made it even better.

Cramped/cozy little place (didn't go upstairs, so there may be more seating), but the food was absolutely delicious. Had the fried chicken sandwich, and OH MY GOD!!!! Had we been in town longer we definitely would have come back here.Ran into a regular patron there and he said that everything on the menu is delicious. So yeah, we'd hands down recommend this place.

I've been visiting the new SoSA District in Downtown SJ more during the evening, but when I saw this little spot open during lunch I checked out their IG and the pics made me want to try it asap. Today the service was friendly, helpful and swift. I asked about any 'off menu items' and they told me about the 50/50 option for the banh mi sandwiches....so I tried it, and both sides were delish! My buddy ordered the bowl and he couldn't resist diving into the meal so quickly that the pic I grabbed of his dish is missing a big slab of meat. LOL, we were both hungry and this joint hit the spot. Plus we ordered a tasty Thai tea, and a passion fruit juice...both very good. While I'm more familiar with good'ol Lee's Sandwich quick banh mi, this place steps-it-up white a bit, and is well worth it. The bread was soft, the meat was tender, and each bite was structured wonderfully.....great banh mi across the board.

It’s kind of a pop up in a bar. They took about 10 minutes to pull my order together, the manager offered me iced coffee since it was taking so long. We got the Porchetta and Medallion banh mi’s, chicken wings, and fries. They were all excellent! The medallion (pork and lemon grass patty) was especially unusual and delicious. They came with this cilantro sauce that I wasn’t going to use, but I thought I should I try it and man was it good. I will be back. This place rocked. Oh also I got a couple of Banh mi’s for my in-laws - they asked for no onions, no cilantro and they followed the instructions to a T. Which is rare these days.

I saw the Mommy's Banh Mi sign in the Rec Room in Downtown San Jose' and thought I'd give it a try. I am glad I did. You walk in and you are greeted and welcomed with sincerity and a smile. Inside it is small, quaint and cute. I ordered the Vietnamese fried chicken and Vietnamese coffee. The fried chicken and the cilantro sauce that came with it was so delicious! The vietnamese coffee was really good too, cold and refreshing. The chef that brought the food out and the employee up front were so respectful, charming and nice. I will definitely go back again.

Incredibly flavorful pork banh mi. The pork was silky and the herbs fresh and crunchy. And only for $11!! Vietnamese coffee was also top tier - perfect blend for strong and sweet. This is a corporate to go lunch spot so there's only two high tables inside for eating and hours are limited. Food is worth though!

When I first stopped by at Mommy's Banh Mi at Fuze Nightclub in downtown San Jose - it was a bit hard to find at first because I did not expect it to be a pop-up in a nightclub. This is a very busy area, especially on weekends and weeknights, so parking may be a bit difficult. The food came out in a timely manner - I ordered on the kiosk and went down the street for boba and by the time I came back, the food was done. I ordered the chicken and Philly Cheesesteak banh mi sandwiches. The bread was nicely toasted, but a bit dry. The chicken banh mi was a bit on the drier side, while the Philly Cheesesteak was nice and juicy.
