Pho Quest Stop #77It’s been awhile since I’ve tried a new pho spotMy favorite spot Pho Ha Noi now has locations in San Jose, Cupertino, Palo Alto and Fremont and is a successful chainToday was a chance to try a mom and pop shopPho Nhy is on McKee Road and the options here are sparse. The prior pho spot was one of my lowest rated pho spots I had triedBut I heard this new establishment and the nearby Duc Huong sandwiches had renewed food cred of the areaTheir signature is the beef stew which I really enjoyed with flat rice noodles and the pho oxtailSoup flavors were solid and both fresh flat and regular rice noodles are availableThe Hainan chicken was a bit lean but overall this is a surprising find for the area? Bo Kho $16.50 ~ Beef Stew, Large, Rice Noodles / Pho Tai Duio Bo $15 ~ Large Pho with Flank Steak and Oxtail / Hainan Chicken with Rice $16?Pho Nhy (San Jose, CA)My Pho Quest Rankings: [San Jose, unless noted]============1) Pho Ha Noi - BEST Pho (Overall & Northern Style)2) Pho Cong Ly - BEST Oxtail Pho3) Pho Y1 - BEST Pho (Southern Style)4) Pho Kim Long - BEST Chicken Pho5) Turtle Tower (SF) - Pho Dac Biet6) Pho Ga Hung - BEST Cau Bun Rau Muong7) Pho 79 (Garden Grove) - Pho Dac Biet8) Pho Papa - Pho Dac Biet with Special Beef Short Rib9) Pho Tick Tock - Pho Tick Tock*10) PHO NGUYEN (Milpitas) - Pho Nguyen Dac Biet w/ fresh wide noodlesDining is indoor only and credit cards are accepted

Yum yum yum!! This spot might be my new favorite pho spot, and I feel like I've tried a lot of pho LOL The broth was really the standout for me, so flavorful and rich and warming. It hit the spot so right, and the noodles were the perfect texture too. I loved dipping the meat in the chili sauce they had, it was the perfect level of spice for me. Bean sprouts also came out blanched and steaming! I'd never seen that before, but it really added to the experience and I didn't get any random raw bean sprouts in my noodles. For $14 a bowl, I felt I got the ultimate meal of comfort. Service was super friendly, and the restaurant felt so comfortable and homey. It was pretty busy on a Sunday around noon for lunch, lots of families and older couples enjoying their meals. Parking lot was a little crazy with everyone doing their weekend shopping, but I definitely want to come back to try their beef stew, it looks soooo good!

This totally beats my expectations! Highly recommended for the food and great service. It's our first time to Pho Nhy, they serve very authentic Vietnamese food. We ordered the Hainan chicken and pho and they both are really good. Even my very picky 4 year food eater approves this and ate every single thing! Unlike other pho noodle soup which contains a lot of msg, the soup is very flavorful and without msg (at least I didn't get very thirsty like I usually do after msg heavy pho soup). We will be back again

My go-to comfort food for healing in San Jose. $26/person including taxes.Like visiting an aunty when I felt sick. I woke up with inkling for some warm comfort food so I started my search for something soupy that's open early in San Jose. From the parking lot, this place appears intimidating for a first-time non-Vietnamese. But when I entered the door, it was like enterIng Narnia. The ambiance was quiet yet has classy elegance where middle-age couples, older singles and hipsters bringing their grandparents filling up tables. As I was approaching my table, I didn't realize I was selecting my menu. The tables clearly were filled with regulars who knew what they liked and how to order. The clean bones and dishes spoke for themselves. I sat down looking through the menu and The Weekend Specials stood out. Every table had an order of Long Chinese Donut. So that was a no brainer. Duh, of course when the waitress asked me what I'd like with her broken English, I ordered with body lady language pointing at the next table, "that one, it looks good" the porridge" whatever the other adjacent tables are having. It's an obvious choice. She showed me it was the weekend special indeed. I am so proud that I made a good choice. I totally knew what I ordered lolI am appreciative that they went for the mile and blanched the bean sprouts. I mean, everyone like me could use an extra umph in their daily fiber. So, I happily added that into my porridge too. I'm so glad they thinly sliced the organs since I'd pick out the ones I didn't like as a kid hehehe. But the porridge was thick and the seasoning was well-balanced to make it easy for me to be indifferent and finish my bowl.I had a hot tea and ordered a Salted Plum Soda drink and I requested it with no ice since my throat was itchy this morning. It helped. Home remedy, I don't know, at least I would like to believe it helps. Maybe it did but maybe it did not. Who knows but it was money well spent. The scrumptious crunch and the scent of the softness of the Chinese donut hmmm... I wish they could open a pop-up next to my house every weekend. I think it would be like visiting an auntie, making me eat more veggies, and drinking healthy drink. I'd come back again for their Hunan chicken rice, another weekend special.

What a gem Pho Ny is. Obviously there are unlimited pho options in San Jose, and my gf and I wanted to try something new. We have our go-to's but wanted to expand. We saw Pho Ny had a solid rating, and it was close by so here we go..It's a small family own restaurant, few tables inside. There's a good selection of dishes, pho, porridge, stews etc. I went with the oxtail pho, I wanted to try something new. I usually always get the pho dac biet, combination. My dish came out piping hot, big plus! It shocks me every time when pho doesn't come out steaming hot. The soup was amazing, the flavors really took me away and it was delicious. The broth makes all the difference in the world. I had the regular pho noodles. There was 2 big pieces of ox tail, very tender and soft. It was an amazing bowl of pho tbh. No complaints at all. My GF had the beef stew and she loved it. I tried it and the flavors were amazing. Beef was tender and juicy. We both really enjoyed our food and can't wait to come back to try something else.Service was great. Everyone was very nice and we even had a great conversation with the staff. We'll definitely be back soon!Great option for pho if you're in the area!

Really nice owner, very sorry to leave such a negative review, but this is one of the worst pho meals we've had.Broth way too salty, probably want to prevent diners using the oyster sauce & Sriracha condiments. Broth isn't real bone broth, very weird tasting broth, too little meat, too little vegetable toppings, tea served in disposable cups at $1/cup, everything was so very unpleasant and unsatisfying. We only ate here because the famous Pho 54, our favorite real bone broth Pho restaurant, was closed for vacation until 11.15.23. Pho 54 is A+++.

Been going here for years. I use to live around the corner, just wished it was around when I did. The pho broth is very rich and the special comes with an ox tail too. This location is still in my top 5 pho spots. It’s a nice mom and pop location so it can get packed on weekends and lunch time due to limited seating but it shouldn’t be a long wait. Be sure to get the Chinese donut with it.

I had the oxtail pho a year ago and it was great. The broth is the meatiest tasting broth in San Jose as of now, but tried the pho dac diet this time around and tasted like the broth was more sweeter this time around which is why I'm rating it 4 instead of 5.Overall soup is strong in flavor. Great quality of meat, and service is good. Understand and speak English well.

Ambiance: Small cozy shop. Very clean.Service: prompt, friendly. Food came out quickly.Food: 3/5The pho was good, but the broth is on the stronger side (lots of fish sauce). I prefer lighter broths, but there are few pho places that make dark broths, so I'm happy this place exists. I like that they have fresh noodles and give a nice portion of meat. The difference in price between regular and large isn't much, so I'd recommend getting the large.I don't think most people have tried this style of pho, so give it a shot! It might be your new favorite.

I've never tried the Beef Stew at any Noodle restaurant. My uncle said, "Oh, it is different than Chinese Beef Stew. It has a pop of flavor different than ours." Today, I tried it. And boy, was it good. Apparently, other yelpers had said the same thing about the beef stew here at this restaurant.Beef Stew (choice of bread, rice noodle, or egg noodle). Also, there is a choice of beef stew or tendons only. The beef stew came out, and it was piping hot! The first sip of the soup and I was impressed. It was beefy, flavorful, and aromatic. You could tell they cooked the broth for hours. The beef was tender and flavorful. The beef tendons were soft and creamy. Creamy!?! When you are eating it and it slowly dissolves in your mouth but you still have that creaminess of the tendon in your mouth. It's so good! The egg noodles were cooked perfectly, where they had a nice bite, bounce, or chew. In other words, they weren't overcooked or soggy.Vietnamese Iced Coffee: Strong, bold, sweetened enough to enjoy the full- bodied taste of this drink with no bitterness. Nowadays, I usually only order this at a few places because a lot of places do not make a good Vietnamese Iced Coffee. Pho Nhy does make a good one.

This play is hands-down has the best Vietnamese beef stew that I try so far! They're pretty on point with flavor texture and they also give a decent amount! I give it five stars because it's literally the only beef stew that I've tried in the face that is pretty I'm fine at least to my palate! They have a parking lot so you don't need to worry about street parking it's in the same plaza across from duc huong sandwiches! I haven't heard anything else but they have a small menu so I think most of the things are pretty on point especially with a smallll menu so the only specialize in pho, beef stew & Hainan chicken
