They recently started a proper omakase counter service for $75 at the time of writing this review. Other places might offer moriawase disguised as omakase, but this is the true omakase experience. Chefs are super nice and accommodating. Their regular menu is also amazing but I wanted to highlight the omakase experience.

California Rolls are exquisite! Favorite Dishes: The Beef Teriyaki ( meat is fine grilled) Katus Donburi is our personal favorite. The Miso soup is fantastic, and the Gyoza is world class amazing. We have been living in the bay area for 6 years now. We do not like to eat at most places here in they Bay, we are always disappointed, but, Sanraku does NOT disappoint. We give this eatery a 10 out of 10!

Salmon terriaky was a poor choice. The chicken terriaky looked delicious however.

Up until yesterday, I thought Sanraku was a decent option on the south side of San Jose. But after traveling to Tokyo and eating nigiri at Tsukiji Outer Market and at Robin Menlo Park this past month, I had issues with the sashimi and nigiri this time around.Visually the dishes looked nice. However, the sashimi was still chilled on the inside of the fish. There was little to no vinegar in the rice or the fish compared to nigiri and sashimi I had in Tokyo. We got the sushi and sashimi platter as well as another sashimi appetizer platter with hamachi and salmon. Piece after piece, it was virtually flavorless.Perhaps my expectations were too high after traveling to Tokyo and eating at Robin and Hashiri. But Chiba-san's Izakaya is about the same price and much closer to what I'm looking for in terms of authentic Edomae nigiri. Leichi also has quality sashimi and boxed nigiri. Maybe I caught them on an off-day but I don’t see the need to repeat this experience.Parking: Mall parking lot can get pretty busy on the weekend.

It was my first time here and surprised how the bento and the bowlof rice was brought to the table. The waitress brought two bento boxes and the two bowls of rice all together without using a tray, one of the rice bowl was under the bento box touching the bottom of the bento box. It is very unhygienic!I guess the waitress didn’t wanted to make extra effort to serve the customers with better presentation.Simply disappointed!

One of the hidden gems in a shopping mall of all places. This is definitely not food court quality! Great food and great service every time. The best sushi in the area, and the non sushi dishes, while limited in selection, are definitely not limited in flavor. The best Katsu Donburi anywhere! The rib-eye plate is as good as the best steakhouse rib-eye, if not better! Service is attentive and efficient. Forget shopping, come to the mall just for the best Japanese food anywhere!

I had the chef's omakase at this sushi place, and it was amazing! The flavors were top-notch, and the chef really knows their stuff. The whole experience, from the ambiance to the service, made it a memorable meal. Definitely recommend giving it a try!

You wouldn't expect a Japanese restaurant in a mall to be so good! We ordered the omakase set that was a reasonable $75. You get an appetizer set that's highlighted by a delicious slice of blue fin tuna. My favorites in the 7 piece sushi set were the Chu-toro, Saba, and Scallops! In the set is also asari miso soup. everything was great and I enjoyed the authentic japanese food here!

Got the soft shell crab roll and the sushi set which included sashimi, 6pcs of nigiri, and a California Roll! My total came out to be around $75 including tip which can be pricey for the items but it was a pleasant experience for a quick bite of delicious sushi! I really enjoyed the soft shell crab roll as it had a great crunch and the fish was super fresh!

Surprisingly fresh and delicious sushi inside Oakridge mall. Pro tip- come on Tuesday or Thursday since fresh fish is delivered on those days. We love the seared salmon belly, uni, toro and other nigiri here. The sushi rolls are also not bad.

Hands down one of my favorites. I've also tried their SF location and this one is still by far the best. I've tried many things off their menu but my go to is their sushi tokujo. The staff is always super fast and helpful and the ambiance although located inside Oakridge mall still feels like you are at nice sushi counter. A must try!!!

Love this place for the lunch bento box. The food looks delicately put together in the box and the quality of the food didn't reduce with the price. We were surprised they have this lunch special at the mall. It used to be a rather expensive Japanese restaurant at night. We love sitting outside to take advantage of the skylight and they even had huge Japanese style umbrellas for shade. It was such Japanese care. We were ok that that the food came out a bit slow when it looked great. We've signed up for the points meaning we'll come back for sure.
