Beautiful little shop. Lots of great history and even better sandwiches! Cash only but they have atm on sight. Enjoy your sandwhich inside and enjoy the art and decor or relax outside on the patio. Fresh sourdough all day long. It does not get better. Highly recommend.

Just a cool unique random place. The bread was fresh as all heck, super tender.
It is a cash only facility but they do offer the option to do Venmo which I did (ATM on site as well). The sandwich was quite hearty and big. Very filling... There was a bit of a line when I got in, but the gentleman behind the counter was quite efficient with it. The other worker was making the bread and tending the register. I'll be back for sure

Love this place, not the best parking, however it's worth a trip for the best homemade sourdough sub sandwich in downtown San Jose 😋 I loved meeting Barbara, she's a lovely, beautiful lady with talents in Art 🎨 We enjoyed viewing all of her paintings.

I used to live in San Jose and would frequent sourdough eat at least three times a month now I live in Southern California and plan my trip just to stop and get an amazing sandwich and see the beautiful owner and her sandwich maker. September 19 and looking forward to seeing you

I used to go here often for lunch when I worked on N. First in San Jose during the 80's. Many enjoyable lunches here with my coworkers. I stopped in for lunch whie doing jury duty and was delighted to find it was exactly the same after all these years. And the sandwiches were every bit as delicious. Warms my heart that some good things can stay the same...

Great sandwich shop my Sister and I found by chance. Fresh warm bread and excellent Tuna for myself and Ham and Turkey for Sis. Highly recommend. Very nice people running the place as well. Plus they have a few sandwiches named after my home State of Idaho, definitely a plus.

A true old school family-owned joint, where they cover the walls in Barbara's gorgeous oil paintings of hot gals, put the same condiments on every sando, and only take cash. Always has a line and is worth the wait.

Delicious sandwiches, with warm, fluffy bread. Had both the pastrami and the salami and they were both excellent (the pastrami was my favorite). Cute patio with a nice atmosphere
